My great grandpappy won a 2 bore stopping rifle in Africa in 69 in his early 30s I still have that monster of a gun
@Thebiggamehuntingblog2 ай бұрын
Wow! A monster of a gun indeed! How did he "win" such a rifle?

@@Thebiggamehuntingblog poker game on his trip to Africa and his early thirties and he wanted any poker game there and he didn't know that he was getting it as the main prize and he got a chance to hunt a massive elephant with it and not only that he hunted several other animals along with that very gun too and I have every single picture and the gun itself and it looks as perfect as it did the day he got it not a single scratch and just straight up perfect nice double rifle

That's awesome! I'd love to see that rifle. Would you mind emailing photos to me at john@thebiggamehuntingblog.com?

The stories told are sooo interesting could sit and hear him talk of those accounts all day. Going to look for entire series you've done.

Glad you enjoyed it! Kevin has his own playlist on my KZbin channel: kzbin.info/aero/PLZzKegcceGJQDuR1SbGWEUVzbtG1daeSA This was his 17th appearance on the podcast. Not all of them are in that KZbin playlist yet, but links to all of them are at the bottom of this page and you can listen to them on your preferred podcast network.

Back in 2006, i had my first safari with JohnX in South Africa. I shot my kudu on Kevin's land. We met at the skinning shed. Kevin was a wealth of knowledge and shared everything from ballistics to hunting stories while the skinners worked. Nice to hear from you again, doctori. I hope all is going well for you.

I see a 3rd Infantry Division patch in your display. I was HHC 2nd Brigade, 3rd ID, Kitzingen, Germany in 1974-1976. We shall remain here. Nous resterons la. Rock of the Marne. Our HHC 2nd Brigade motto was 'Send Me'.

I was indeed in 3rd ID. I was a tank platoon and mortar platoon leader in 3-69AR in 1st Brigade and deployed to Iraq with them in 2009-2010.

Thanks for these great videos, it takes a few minutes to get used to Mr Robertson accent but very enjoyable. I'll probably never have the money for Africa but I am building a 9.3x62 on a 09 argentine action at the moment for a whitetail and if lucky black bear rifle.
@Thebiggamehuntingblog2 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! The 9.3x62 will work really well on whitetail and black bear. I wish you the best of luck in those hunts!

In a moment of optimism I bought some 500 Accurate Reloading brass. Still have it. Probably will never even handle a rifle in that caliber.
