Time to start the BUG OUT VEHICLE VIDEO SERIES.
A little over a month ago we asked if there was interest in doing a series on setting up a bug-out vehicle. So today is the first video of the series. We are currently rigging out the BattlBox 6X6 Jeep to be added to the series.
But what about the average everyday driver. Here is the first Vidja of an Everyday driver vehicle Bug Out Build.
You first need to think of a solid foundation for your build. Storage is a premium. These products Currin1776 selected as his foundation. If you have a pickup you're gonna want to check these products out.
We hope you enjoy the Vidja and we hope you continue to follow along with this build and be on the lookout for the 6X6 video. Its gonna be Awesome!
If you want to see a quick install and first impressions of each of these systems, there will be Vidjas on the CURRIN1776 KZbin Channel soon.

Bought a 98 Ranger brand new back in 98. After 22 years of being my work horse, it's getting a make over with: 3" lift, 33s with steel rims sporting 12.50 wide mudders, 1/2 ton Kargo Master holding 4 5 gal jerry cans, a 3x5 basket, and some recovery gear, a hitchgate for my spare, a steel big ass bumper holding my winch and light bar, and some back up lights bright enough to scare Bigfoot. A spray on bed liner with plywood mini cabinets holding a bed to sleep my 100# wife and me will keep us dry under my canopy. Added some small solar panels to power my Yeti to have some light when needed. If I pull my 5x8 cargo trailer, I can fill it with more necessities like ammo and food.

I personally want to build a Tahoe or Suburban adventure/bug out vehicle. Basically the same capability offroad as a truck, but the majority of my stuff can be kept INSIDE the vehicle. I dont have to worry about weatherproof boxes, or even getting out to get into those boxes... I can just climb back and have access to it all. People looking at it just think its another tahoe with dark tinted windows. These truck systems are cool, but they show everyone "Hey, this person has a bunch of stuff/supplies" Trucks like these are highly visible rolling loot boxes. An SUV can look like a soccer mom car but actually be a rolling base camp.

Your cloths are first form of shelter If not, someone might be trying to sweeten the pot by speaking contrary Bugging out - expediency of travel Training yourself to react counter to instinct keeps you at a snails pace. Having anything other than nothing is a psychological death trap when in a time one has left and grabbed nothing. Bug out bags should never need to be opened else sides for expediency sake. Hi , this is my first time here. And the first thing that nearly sent me away was the bloody loud music. A good production doesn’t need ear splitting nose. I have read quite a lot of comments about site’s with this problem. I suppose it’s okay for the young people with hearing problems from wearing headphones and turning up the volume. But for old farts like our outdoor group we would rather hear something creeping up on you then not. Anyway that’s my bit. Thank you

That vehicle set up in that color is the target vehicle the hordes would be after. It screams bug out/ prepper which would mean food, ammo, gas, guns etc. I know a people that will simply band together and prey on the most rewarding victims. They will not waste time or effort on weak and useless. Risk vs reward. Predators working in a pack will prey on what will yield the best rewards. They will not stop hunting you. Just food for thought.

Also, if you do not own a reliable vehicle like Toyota and you are too far from the main road or away from civilization, invest on a durable hiking/walking boots with your get go bag to make it home or seek for help. Many Ford "fixin' on road daily" or old unreliable vehicles will most likely be stranded far from home and far from any help when venturing outdoors. Stay safe out there!

The Leitner setup looks good, but their FAQ says they only make them for trucks, not the Honda Ridgeline. The Honda Ridgeline is my truck, and serves me well in snowy mountains, and desert camping trips, as well as day-to-day travels. So while the Leitner setup looks good, it won't work for me.

I have always kept a good amount of things in my car, tools, hand winch, backpack with food, shelter, a 10/22, a break action 12, and a 9mm for defense, 50cal can of ammo, as well as 5x2G of water, and a usually empty 3gal gas can. In my garage I have 2 totes. one basically has a camp site in it. one is food, and consumables (that gets rotated), There are also 2 other smaller tags, one is an extended tool bag, the other is important papers, documents, and three 5gal water cans There is also a safe in the garage, right there by the trunk, that has 4 more cans of ammo, another 10/22, two hi point 9mm, a 22 revolver, a pump, and a break action 12ga. There are only 3 diff rounds, 22, 9, and 12...The details are meaningless......just put some thought into your needs, and a system for you If I need to quickly leave my home, If there is an alien invasion, or a house fire, etc. There are other things I would want to grab from the house If I could. but if I do not have the extra 5 mins, I do not need that extra 5 mins. If I need to leave my car quickly on foot, I can do so. Just grab the bag, and go.

CURRIN1776 In every case there's almost ALWAYS a tradeoff, in this case by beefin up your storage capacity of the bed of your "everyday truck", you've now created a greater signature for yourself and made your truck that much more appealing to would be thieves. The only piece, in my opinion that is a viable thing to permanently have is the bed-box, because it can be semi-concealed/non-eyecatching by putting up the tailgate.
@CURRIN1776

Correct. No matter what there is a trade-off in everything. Precisely why I keep redundancies in the decked box incase the pods are compromised.
@gregorycraig9882

On a counter point, realizing that this is not a everyday truck would make me think twice about messing with it. Would you kick over a bike that says hells angels on it? thieves like easy prey. I would think twice if I ever wanted to be able to think at all, about breaking into a vehicle that has gun related stickers all over it. Just food for thought.

@marine7443 4 жыл бұрын
@@gregorycraig9882 Intent IS intent and if ANYONE has the urge to do something more often than not, regardless of what stickers are there, they'll try to take what they can. And yes, the easy path, is where most go so they'd most likely just take the truck....

@@jeramydygert2611 he has gas hanging in the open. In shtf, if you need gas you would look at this and just keep moving? I'm all for it being a offroad vehicle. But he's says shtf, not offroad.

Great BRIGHT RED "bug out" vehicle. Hopefully the people you're hiding from are color blind. :-) Seriously - good build!

Okay I have a completely different I plan for a bug-out vehicle that is my 36 foot sailboat I'm outfitting it currently. When the shit hits the fan I am going to be offshore where it's safe. And that's just my take on it of course everyone else is welcome to their own opinion but yeah there's pros and cons to anything there certainly is pros and cons to my idea I know that good luck with yours.
