I like it. I really do like it. Personally, I would like to have a private toilet space inside. That space would ideally also be able to wash one's body if no facilities were close by. For legal reasons of registering as a leisure vehicle, I would also need to have (but not necessarily want) a sink and a fixed cooker of some kind. An onboard toilet is something that I don't have in my caravan, but having stayed somewhere last year where there was a bear alert and bear fireworks being set off not 5 metres from my caravan, the trek to the toilet in the middle of the night was done with much caution! The bear problem has become quite an issue with 'urban bears' now part of everyday vocabulary. (Country is Japan)

Absolutely, to get it reclassified as a motorhome (for UK legal reasons), they (the Man) expect - in addition to the awning this one has - a fixed toilet/bathroom & kitchen else they can push back and you're in the world of invalid insurance and more frequent/stringent checks than just an annual MOT, etc.

The Landrover Defender in the Australian Army all had Isuzu engines that never broke down. The SAS “perentie” 6 wheel Defender has the ability to cross the width of Australia with the long range tank with the bullet proof Isuzu turbo diesel. One sold at auction for £50,000 $AU110,000.
@Bugoutvehiclesuk24 күн бұрын
Never broke down and cross all of Australia on one tank 😂 some bold claims kid
@soschili885719 күн бұрын
@ I served 20 years in the military and never heard of a land rover Isuzu engine malfunction, they were top heavy and rolled over quite a bit as not so soldier proof. The reliability comes mainly due to the high discipline of the maintenance regime in the Army, (daily checks) and monthly checks, and the Isuzu engine and vehicles are highly sort after, but its only specific engines that maintain such a reputation, as some major car companies Ford to be Frank, (have been taken over by the bean counters, cutting corners to save, but it doesn’t save in the long run) every manufacturer is only as good as its current vehicle. So modern Isuzus may not be as reliable. The long range factor is real, the LRPV’s were designed to for Australian special forces to last on an operation for extended periods. The LRPV are highly modified for a specific purpose. So not so bold claims after all, just facts. The LRPV is a long range patrol vehicle, and along with the Isuzu engine like the Toyotas are sort after in Australia due to their reliability, unlike the terrible reliability of an aging land rover, (the series 1 LR did have a good reputation though) you might be ok for the first 4 - 6 years in a modern Land Rover, but experience says its unreliable. Might be ok in the UK if you change vehicles often, but outback your vehicle has to last 20 years and if your vehicle is not reliable it could cost your life.

@ I dont think you understand the process in defence procurement, in accordance with most soldiers air sailors who have to operate some of the shit that gets into defence, political influence lobbying and back door deals were common place when I was in the military. The Land Rover was a success story, but why did they put Isuzu engines in a 110 defender? Because Land Rover engine has a poor reputation in the outback. The F111 had problems a blowouts, the Helicopters need replacing in the Australian Army, The Eurocopter tiger couldn’t communicate with the US Abrams tanks. The latest debacle is the submarines, but I also think the F35’s will probably be a waste of money. Corruption is rife
