I wanted to make some home made burritos back in November, the day before my wife went in the hospital with COVID. I finally got a chance to make them this past Sunday. Different recipe, but about the same size. Next time, I'll try making my own tortillas. (When I picked up my daughter from work, she asked what I made for dinner. I told her, "Baked Stuffed Tortilla Shells." Had her guessing until she saw them.

I am a lifelong Duke’s addict. I feel about Dukes the same way I feel about Heinz ketchup. I can eat other brands but strongly prefer not to. A little bit of Duke’s on some thin white bread with fresh tomato slices and a bit of salt and pepper. Mmmmm good.

Hi, Kent! I discovered Duke's Mayo upon relocating to GA. from out west, 35yrs ago. I know so many people who otherwise hate mayonnaise (me included) and become full converts upon trying it. The flavor is tangy and good, perfect for egg salad and deviled eggs, rather than just gloopy, nondescript, stuff like so many others. Every once in a while, I send a small bottle out to my mother, out west. She didn't like mayo, either so, we grew up with "Miracle Whip" dressing as mayonnaise when I was a kid, didn't know any better but it was sweet so I ate it. I left home and that was the end of mayonnaise. Some time later I tried regular (kraft) mayo and that was horrible, rather have Miracle Whip than that (what ya grow up with). Then, one day upon hitting the south, my girlfriend introduced me to Duke's. "I hate mayo.." "Try it," she said. The rest is history, I didn't know it could be like that! 😆 The clouds parted, the angles sang and life was complete. You can get it from Amazon, west of Alabama Not sure where the line is, like not being able to get Coors beer east if the great devide until the 80s? 90s? forgot. But we used to move it from Wyoming east, when I was in Utah and Montana, back in the "Smokey and the Bandit" days. 😉 Hey, people would pay $8-$10 for a two dollar six pack, just to be cool in front of their friends. 😆 A truck load of it made your wallet fat for 36hrs of work "Guilty as charged." hehe

Nothing more ridiculous than men being too afraid to face the reality, being incapable of facing the real world and real life problems, hoping for some even more ridiculous shtf scenario happening. Weak men who found some niché area thinking it makes them more manly and more worthy than others. No, that shtf scenario won't happen, and you waste your money, your days and years trying to make yourself more valuable in some 1/15000000 scenario, instead of making yourself valuable in what really counts - everyday life. It's just sad.

Living in the southwest in Phoenix, AZ you can imagine how everyone claims to make the "Ultimate Burrito" out here. Holy smokes, after watching your video, I wish more would get on board and get their act together! Two things; I'd toast both sides of the burrito to give it a little crunch, and I'd make a hot sauce from various peppers in a blender (depending on desired heat level) to go with it. We pour on the sauce before each bite! All of your videos are awesome, and I sure am a fan of your cooking. Just some input how we get our burrito's to our taste out here in the desert. Peace. Pete
@loboheeler2 жыл бұрын
You can't fold the tortilla if it's stiff. Commercial four tortillas can be quite lousy in areas outside the greater Southwest, so fresh made would often be best. A lot more time consuming though. The tortillas are often steam softened before folding. The best burritos I ever had were also steamed after folding, and were a fork meal instead of a sandwich.
@peterkunka26942 жыл бұрын
@@loboheeler Yessir, I understand tortilla folding. I mentioned toasting the "burrito", meaning after it's made and folded... not toasting the "tortilla" before making the burrito. The tastiest tortilla's I've found are Alejandro's from Tucson. Lots of good food out here in the southwest. Feast and enjoy, my friend!

@@robbyramirez4371 Yessir, you are correct about that. Arizona and New Mexico definitely have different flavors and cooking styles, based on the ingredients grown in their respective regions. Those burritos do look quite tasty! I just have 2 suggestions: 1. Add some of your salsa to the beef mixture at the last 5 minutes (or so) of the simmer and 2. Add another layer of that delicious looking sour cream mixture to the burrito while you were building it. The whole time you were eating I was thinking those lovely items need to be distributed and incorporated throughout that burrito. But still...job well done Kent! mmm MM! Keep on Dancin' !
