The thing, I believe people put pet and human in different categories, so they didn't expect that cats requires alot of bonding time, while with dogs, you can generally just vibe and play with (so as most other pets)

It all comes down to the amount of responsibilities you want. If you just want the companionship and cuddles, then get a cat. If you want companionship and the responsibilities of having a toddler, then get a dog. Some people want something to keep them constantly occupied and distracted. Others just want peace and quiet and to chill. Neither one is wrong. Just different.
