Badge idea for pass it on or battle: allergy awareness. So make recipes that generally have some or many elements that include allergens (say peanut butter, almond flour, etc) and ways to navigate those elements while still being able to enjoy all the flavors of the dish.

Yes, lots of the quick recipes that are trendy at the moment seem to be various combinations of peanut butter and chocolate! I think they should get points for how many allergens they can avoid. Growing up, our family had to make everything dairy, wheat, gluten and sugar free in the days before free from products were available in the supermarkets, so something like this would have been super helpful.

Fun thing about bay leaves, at least in old Swedish cookbooks: it seems that no matter what you were making, or how many portions, you always should add 1 (one) bay leaf. Almost like it was some magical thinking involved there, "We can't go wrong as long as we add a bay leaf!"

thing is they do stuff, just not very noticeable, the general rule of thumb is that you might not notice it doing anything but you will notice when it's not there. it's a very subtle taste and a lot of people have old leaves because while they do keep for a long time you do need to store em properly for it to be the case
@vincerussett79222 жыл бұрын
Or grow them in the garden, which we do here in Somerset, UK ..but beware, once the roots are established, the trees grow incredibly quickly: they need a hard trim back at least once or twice a year: we are always trying to give the fresh leaves away. If you haven't got a garden, they will also thrive in large pots.

If you've ever watched someone make a historical British sauce that looks a bit lumpy and weird, bread sauce is basically one of those that has somehow managed to survive the ages. I don't know if there's ever been a dish made on this channel that I've wanted to try more than those turkey curry rolls. What a fun creation and they looked really delicious with the toppings. It did take me a while to figure out that the frosting was inspired by a raita and not a "writer". I was waiting for Mike to tell us which writer inspired the recipe.

This is part of why I appreciate how most Sorted Food videos have really good captions added to them (as I would've been confused as well if I didn't have them turned on).

I thought he said "writer" too,but then I'm cracking up anyway! Thought Mike's curry rolls were the best of the bunch, they did look delicious. Merry Christmas to everyone at Sorted, look forward to watching you again next year. 😀
