Happy longest day of the year! This is always the day I decide to make big changes in my life. This video is not an example of said change. I’m a sharer. 😂

lol should have read the other comments first lol 😂 good to know. And thank you for this awesome recipe! I’m going to try it next time I make masks ❤️

Heyyy I'm playing catch up. I love your new intro. This mask looks amazing. Might be a new try for me. I've never tried mud masks. ❤

This mask looks so lovely! It's definitely worth trying! Can this work as a foot mask as well? We have mud volcanoes where I live, think I will try some in a small batch with your recipe (in place of the Bentonite Clay). Looking forward to the hair mask video.

This looks gorgeous! I've never thought about making an emulsified mask as I do love the self care ritual of making a mask with water and random kitchen ingredients from time to time, but yeah this looks fab. I have to know though I'm so curious - why can't it go in a metal tin?
@MrsSoapAndClay6 ай бұрын
It totally can go in a metal container. There is an old wives tale out there that says bentonite clay will be deactivated if used in conjunction with metal tools because bentonite leeches positively charged compounds. This is a silly interpretation of the science; if bentonite leeches elements, then the metal container would be eaten through if exposed for long enough. That does not occur because the metal is not in the appropriate state to allow for such bond sharing. But this is a misinterpretation that formulators and consumers alike seem to largely believe, so I am just covering all my bases. 😜

This mask looks delightful!

So, if we aren't supposed to put it in a metal tin, do we put it in glass or plastic? I've never made masks, but I'm open to it.

Glass or plastic will work fine.

Is this about the portrait in the background? Because that frame job cost me $300 so I’m OVERJOYED that you noticed and can now consider that money well spent. 😂

@MrsSoapAndClay Yup. I wish more folks would get creative with their matting. Beautiful art deserves beautiful framing. Glad you did it.

So I made this tonight and it’s turned out a bit different from yours. The only thing I did differently was the spinach powder I made from baby spinach and I did not juice it first. I just dehydrated it in my dehydrator and used my mortar and pestle to make it a fine powder. My phase A was so very thick that i was sure it would turn out a solid brick of cement after I mixed in the clays. So I added more water. I made a 20oz batch and ended out adding 2 more once’s of water. I used my immersion blender to make sure everything was well incorporated and at the end it looks really good. It’s very bright green as well, not dark green like yours. I capped them at room temperature and I’m wondering if I should have added more preservative and more E wax to compensate for the added water or if it will be ok as it is? I’m excited to give it a try in the morning and I totally understand you wondering if it would stain your skin because mine is just so bright green and it did stain my spatula lol 😂 do you think I should re heat it and add more preservative and E wax or do you think it will work as it is? It’s still within the recommended usage rate for the optiphen. I would really like your opinion on that though.

looks fun to make nice consistency on your powdered spinach that takes work getting stuff ground fine.

I saw the moon while it was still full daylight because the sun never set yesterday, but I was asleep by the time she really got to shine. 😂

Great recipe, but I'm confused. Didn't you say somewhere in another video a long while back that clay masks are hard to preserve? Or is the Optiphen going to do the trick?

So now I have to ask the question… why can’t we put a clay mask in a metal container? I didn’t know you couldn’t… 🤔 I’ve always put them in glass. But can you put them in plastic too? What happens when you put it in a metal container?
