This is great! I am going to possibly get this building for me and my son! Easily my favorite build I’ve found on KZbin.

May i suggest you take that carbon monoxide alarm neat the ground. CO2 is heavier then air.

Yes I didn’t know that at the time, thanks!

What's CO2 (carbon dioxide) density got to do with CO (carbon monoxide) density? Even if they're both NEAT the ground :o)
@kevinneumann384510 ай бұрын
I stand corrected. Those CO monitors need to be put low to the ground as it is heavier then air.
@byronwickenheiser476410 ай бұрын
Yep by the time that goes off might be to late.
@JohnJones-nx6sv10 ай бұрын
CO is actually lighter than air, so monitors should be placed high. But also, the specific gravity of CO is so close to normal air that they mix well, so it doesn't really matter where it is located in that small space.

Great build! How wide is the camper? Wondering how far it overhangs the box. I have a tacoma and want to build one myself

It does not overhang the box, you can close the tailgate.

Something like this is what i wanna build for my tundra.... 6'5'' bed on mine would make mine around 1' 1/2 longer if im not mistaken, and id probably add the length or at least half of the backdoor too. love the idea of a higher ceiling and using the space oover the roof to make the bed.

What exactly did you use for insulation? And has it worked well?
@annalisacandaso-robertson91792 жыл бұрын
What exactly did you use for the cedar ? You said it’s cedar fence but it looks so smooth compared to the cedar fence planks I see at Home Depot. Did you sand them down? Polyurethane? Epoxy? I really like this camper I think I might build my tacoma camper similar to this.
@enguerrandbonnet2192 жыл бұрын
Yes they are just cedar fences from Home Depot. I used polyurethane outdoor coating to weatherproof it more. If you are really considering building this you can find all the details and the material used on the tutorial guide on my website.
@annalisacandaso-robertson91792 жыл бұрын
I’ll check out your website. Home depot only has rough cedar fence boards and the cedar on your camper looks like it’s been planed and sanded.
@OOICU8122 жыл бұрын
Nice build. Curious why you didn’t choose to go with a full-sized door?

Hi-i bought your plans. What did you do to protect the base in the truck bed from water that will get in there?

Hi Scott, good luck with the built! I used a combination of black outdoor pain with a finish coat of truck bed coating.
@SCOTT-vm5nj2 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks for that. I have a 6.5 foot bed Tundra and its a fine truck. i guess its a bit bigger than the Tacoma. But, i think ill build it to the Tacoma dimensions in case i someday get a Tacoma.

Nice work! Love the cedar planks on the outside. Just a safety note, your carbon monoxide alarm should be near the floor since it heavier than air and it will sink to the bottom.
@enguerrandbonnet2192 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, will definitely place it near the floor in the future!
@colinjones21712 жыл бұрын
@@enguerrandbonnet219 Hey FYI that whole CO is heavier than air thing is an urban legend. CO is actually slightly lighter than air: www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/where-should-i-place-carbon-monoxide-detector Honestly shouldn't matter in such a small space. Consider just putting it close to your pillows maybe.
@dreamlookautodetailingauto33532 ай бұрын
Carbon monoxide mixes freely with air in any proportion and moves with air via bulk transport. Because carbon monoxide is lighter than air, it rises with warm air and diffuses evenly throughout a room. This means that carbon monoxide detectors can be placed on the ceiling or on a wall about five feet above the floor.
