good point on the oral b, small head so it forces you to clean one tooth at a time. Its about time someone spoke the tooth about it.
@isaacogunmuko39474 жыл бұрын
Oral b works better than Sonicare. Due to the fact that Oral b round brushes adapt to the teeth better than sonicare. The only thing you gotta do with an Oral b is to hold it over a tooth surface. Outer Surface: Hold the toothbrush over the tooth point towards the gum line for that tooth kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZCknJZprZ11pLM Interdental Surface: Incline the brush head to clean interdental areas(between teeth): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqa6i6WqbdugkLc&t=77 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4a7cpysjMehhdk&t=29 Chewing Surface: Hold the toothbrush over a tooth kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZCknJZprZ11pLM&t=97 Inner Surface: Hold the toothbrush over a tooth and point to the gum line of that tooth. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZCknJZprZ11pLM

There are many case studies involving over 250 people with a 97% completion rate, that suggest that the original, oscillating electric tooth brush is performing much better at pretty much everything. From plaque removal to lowering gingivitis, up to 30% over a sonic tooth brush. Apparently the strokes per minute are NOT the important factor here, but a simple design difference, which may lead to people giving their individual teeth less attention while using a sonic toothbrush, vs a round head, oscillating brush. ERGO, round head oscillating is still better. Also, consider that the sonic toothbrush may not be for you, if you already have sensitive gums or teeth, as it will feel very weird in the beginning (tingling). Most tooth brushes are simply #1 due to design, features and marketing, not actual performance vs performance marks. Case in point, Philips deems it necessary to put their product in your hands for free for review. Where Oral-B are not required to force the preview.

@@antwantw that is a true point. Reading the manual is a #1 problem resulting in misuse of a product. The goes hand in hand with picking the right brush for your teeth and gums. Many ppl use the wrong brush type and too much pressure, plus poor technique that results in a bad experience even injury

I'm one of those people who always gets moaned at by the dentist. Years ago I had an ultrasonic, and each dental visit he dentist said I was doing a good job cleaning. Then I went back to manual, and was moaned at. I then went to oral B and am still moaned at. I am thinking of going back to ultrasonic to see if I get moaned at or congratulated. That would seem to be the real test of a brush system.

I have used sonicare for years. Way back in the late 90s my orthodontist hounded me for months to get one. When I finally did my dental check ups were so much better. Cleanings with the hygienist were so short compaired to the painful blood baths they were with manual brush use. Then after having to replace a few sonicares I was short on cash and decided to try the Oral-B vitality for only $25 at BJ's wholesale. I been using it a few years and its ok, better than going back to manual. My check up and cleaning are not quite as great, the brushing action of the Oral-b is very different and some what feels like a jack hammer in your mouth. I am going back to Sonicare. I just ordered me a new Flexcare platinum from Amazon.

Hi there! Thank you for your very informative video...I own both toothbrushes, and as you mentioned in your video, both are different experiences. The Oral B is easier to use; however, the battery drains fast, and it does not spin as quickly when it starts to die down. Even when the battery has not been charged in a few days or is at the second marker, it can take as much as a day or even more than a day to fully charge. That is not the case with the Sonicare.

The difference between the two is while the WM generic one (Equate ) does seem to have more brute power while the Oral B Vitality is a bit less rough more refined or more controllable . It was a nice change though for now it'll mostly be my backup or inbetween morning and evening cleaning one . I've no problem using both . I believe both will definitely do its job .

Oral B was morally and legally correct in declining to give you a free tooth brush! Hats off to oral B. Our family has been using the oral B for more than 21 years and we have had many different oral B models throughout the years with good teeth cleaning results. The only thing that disappoints us with oral B is the poor battery life which starts to degrade within the two years of use forcing you go buy a new one, something like the stupid iPhone trick of built in redundancy. This may in the long run play against oral B since even loyal customers like us are eventually going to look for other brands with longer charge interval and longer battery life.

You are using it wrong!!! You should just put the brush onto your teeth and gently guide it through. Not brush it with your hand like how you do with a traditional toothbrush. Watch the god damn manual please.
@SmileInfluencers6 жыл бұрын
Alan Wu technically any toothbrush manual or electric should be used following the “bass” technique of brushing where you angle the bristles of the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle between the interface of the tooth and the gums. You are correct with regards to the amount of force that should be applied when using an electric toothbrush. Due to the mechanism of action, you simply need to glide the toothbrush tooth by tooth along the gumline as mentioned above. I’m sorry if that was demonstrated clearly in the video. Glad to see your enthusiasm for oral hygiene 👏🏼

If you care about your teeth, you need the Braun/Oral-B and the Philips/Sonicare. They ae sufficiently different to justify using both. It's annoying that Philips doesn't provide a small, round head. And it's annoying that they each use NiMH batteries, instead of Lithium. I suspect that each company uses the same internal electronics, and probably the same overseas manufacturer. After a year or so, each of my Braun and Philips brushes decided to turn itself on every couple of days -- not likely coincidence.

All oral b electric toothbrush clean teeth the same way, the only difference is the new brushing technology. The Oral B Genius Series and IOS series toothbrush basically track out where a users brushing on the Oral B app, while Oral B Pro Smartseries toothbrushes basically track out the brushing time on the Oral B app. The Cleaning Technology on all Oral B electric toothbrush is Osciallating, so it doesn't really matter if you use a newer or an older Oral B model. However, the Older models are more fordable, while the Newer Oral B Genius and IO Series Toothbrush are expense. Older models around $40-$50 dollars, while newer models are around $100-$300 dollars.

I totally agree with you! I had a Crest Spinbrush & upgraded to a Sonicare 4100. The Oral B Pro 1000 with the CrossAction head felt TOO aggressive, & just as good as my Crest Spinbrush, no better than it, if the AA batteries were fully recharged in the Spinbrush. The fact that the Sonicare is more sophisticated, & that it's vibrating sonic motion cleans just as well without being too aggressive is what made me buy Sonicare over Oral B.

I didn't specifically say in the video because both are awesome tools for your oral hygiene. I wanted to present all the facts & let you make the decision! Appreciate the comment!
