Hi guys, I wasn't sure how to name this video to be honest. The idea was to talk about the problems that I believe should be addressed. The campaign summary was intended for people who didn't play the game but the video as a whole is for people with some experience. I'm sorry if I came off as too negative. I've played this game for many months and truly believe it's worth picking up. I would love to hear about your experiences with the game and how it can be improved. Feel free to disagree with me. If you enjoyed the video consider liking and subscribing, it would help me a lot

There is one more thing I would like to address, when you get a notification of rebellion in one of the villages/forts, I have to look at the map and investigate where the place is, which is the time required, in addition, I can't retrieve the information after I click on it, so you have to remember the name of the place in question.

Long time no see, Ofoten. You are right. There should be a log of all events.

9:12 Think there was a rum distiller house in Fort Montgomery when I took it, first tobacco though. Many good suggestions that would make the game better.
@hetmanRTSАй бұрын
Thanks a lot, Benny! I think you are right, there is rum production in Fort Montgomery. How do you feel about the game?

@@hetmanRTS Just had New York unlocked, got kicked out from New York. But I do have Fort Clinton and army in New Haven and Morristown. So got them encircled at least. And they don't seem to move. Could be more freedom for sure. But compared to UG:Civil war where we only had fixed battles to play then compared to that we have a lot more freedom in this game. I do find UG:Civil war to be a lot more fun. The battles gets fun when I finally got fusileers as then I can defend and beat forces twice as large. When I only had milis I found the battles to be very boring.

I applaud the ambitions of the developers of this game and I hope they keep working out the kinks in it, but it will take a lot for this to overtake Liberty or Death from 1994 on PC and SNES as the best fun and challenging game about the American Revolutionary War.

I hope they continue to develop the game after the British campaign. I've never seen Liberty or Death, maybe because it was made the year I was born LOL

Game has a lot of potential, but needs a good bit of work still. Lack of battle variety is really a problem. You essentially fight the same type of battles from 1775 - 1780. Nothing really changes. Your troops get better so after a while you know that you can take on the British without having to out number them. Other than that, same fights over and over. Fighting over NYC is the same as fighting over a small town. You see rolling hills, some trees, a farm house and a fence, and that's about it. That's not a city. There is no ability to do any type of sneak attacks. If you have your general and regiments start to head to a British controlled town, some how they amazingly know this and other British troops from other cities head to the same town you're heading toward. If you stop and turn around, they stop and turn around. The British have an incredible spy network apparently. And a lack of winning objectives really hurt. You're just fighting the British over and over, but what is considered a win? Like you, the game suddenly declares Victory for America. Why? In 1777 I had killed all the British generals and all troops in the colonies. That should be end of game. Victory seems to just be time based. And all your suggestions for controlling troops and logistics and determining how much things cost are all good. It is difficult to figure out what to build, what to spend money on, etc.

Hi, Scott Sorry for not replaying earlier. You are right, the game has a lot of potential, but there are serious issues plaguing it. People play UG games because of their combat mechanics, they need to be better.

When did you start your campaign? I feel like the ai in mine is a lot smarter in terms of troop movements on game map. I constantly am being attacked somewhere for it to only be a faint and a real force moves to capture the town I just left. I personally like the sea invasions but the land invasions are annoying and feel like you have no control.
@hetmanRTSАй бұрын
It was a month and a half ago. They made some improvements by this time.

Some of the issues about the American campaign I think come from them wanting historical accuracy. The actual revolution kinda just ends on a whimper for the British. It’s honestly all down hill for them after they take New York.
@hetmanRTSАй бұрын
They got stuck trying to make the game historically accurate.

Main problems with the game are the tedious invasions (its why I quit after Philly also - more loyalist militias please, its more interesting to deal with and would force you to spend resources on keeping support in regions high (building infrastructure, rebuilding towns, newspapers, etc)), the fact that the European powers fight with you (huh? Thats dumb and I hate it), the lack of loyalist only units for the British side (untrained like American troops but loyal to Britain), the support stat has very few consequences or benefits that are clearly defined, the natives dont split allegiance based on region control/offerings provided... but those are the ones that bother me the most.
@hetmanRTSАй бұрын
Fighting European powers is not such a big deal for me as long as you have a say in that. Maybe give AI more units to start with instead of invasions. I believe that invasions are universally hated by players.
