I love a Globecar❤. Nearly bought one in 2020 a Summit Prime 600 from SMC and I wish now we had🙂. Fantastic storage. Have enjoyed watching some of your travels👍🏽thanks, Ruth K

Evening, Great video as it actually shows what it is like being lived in other then just a show model. Seems to be very spacious and allows a lot of natural light in with the skylights. The thing I like most id the swivel shower unit, so handy and no need for curtain to cover. Once again great vid and thanks for the tour.

Thank you so much for your comment John, yes we love the van, it’s really perfect for the two of us. In 2023 we spent more nights in the van than we did in our own house. We’re doing a few upgrades in the next few weeks (electrical upgrades) and will post a video soon showing what we’ve done. Thank you for watching our videos 👍 Sue and Steve 😊

Fab❤ we are torn between the Adria twin SLB and the summit prime 640🤔 can you tell me if the prime is winterised...as in are the pipes in the floor or outside underneath the van etc? Also where do the leisure batteries live? 🤔 thank you ❤

Hi @Leannearnold8326, the fresh water tank and pipes are inside the van (under the bed) but the waste water tank is underneath the van and not protected from frost. One problem we do have is that the Truma Boiler has a valve that opens when the temperature drops below (I think) 4 degrees C and dumps all the fresh water from the tank. It can be quite a pain...you can keep the valve closed by wedging something on it to stop it opening but it is annoying. The heater itself is under the dinette seat. The leisure battery is under the passenger seat. We do use the van in winter but tend to stay in warmer climates (we're in Spain as I type this). If you were wanting to use the van in cold climates I'd be looking at better winterisation that's for sure. Hope this helps. Steve

@@wadskistravelchannel thank you - the dump valve thing is common place on all European built vans - our Hymer does the exact same thing, but you can get a small "low amp" heated wire that attaches to the valve so it stays warm and doesn't dump the fresh water! 🙈 Thanks for the info on build 👍

Thanks for the tour of your van. Your video says the GVM upgrade only requires paperwork. In the UK do you need a different class licence or is a car licence OK up to 4500kg?
@wadskistravelchannel11 ай бұрын
Hi John, thank you. Yes the van upgrade was purely a paperwork exercise. To drive anything over 3500KG (with a UK driving licence) you will need to make sure you have a C1 entitlement - this allows you to drive a vehicle up to 7500KG. This C1 entitlement was added automatically if you passed your car driving test (in the UK) before Jan 1st 1997. (It's called grandfather rights). If you passed your car test after this date it was not included and in this case you would need to pass an additional test to drive anything over 3500KG and get the C1 entitlement added to your licence. You also lose your C1 entitlement when you reach 70 years of age and is only renewed with satisfactory medical. Hope this helps. :-)
