Hello man, very informative video! Just a question, when I access your website to download the fiber library, I cannot submit the settings and download them for some reason. Can you tell me how can I access these settings please?
@HenkJanBaard6 ай бұрын
First of, thank you for this video! I recently bought a 30w fiber laser (ComMarker B4) and also joint the LMA. Because I have another laser machine I use LightBurn. I downloaded the libraries for LightBurn but I'm not sure what to set differently for photo engraving on yellow 14kr gold? In the video I see some EzCad settings that I can't find in LightBurn. Or can I just do: - load in the base photo, assign the photo base settings, do the pass - assign the cleanup settings, do the pass - load in the photo1, assign the detail settings, do the final pass. Thanks!
@LaserEverything6 ай бұрын
As you've surmised the process is very similar in LB. If you don't know what LightBurn sub-layers are in cut settings check that out. It would save a good bit of work compared to the process you're describing above! But yes, that would work fine!
@HenkJanBaard6 ай бұрын
@@LaserEverything Thanks, I also looked at sub-layers. But for photo engraving, I don't see the option (I checked Mode: Fill and than sub-layers are visible/selectable). So I ended up with 3 layers: 1. PhotoBase = Y/R Photo/1 Base; 2. PhotoBase (copy) = Y/R Photo/2 Cleanup; 3. Photo1 = Y/R Photo/3 Details.

You could have multiple layers/hatches that apply in one run, absolutely. In ezcad, it's not really the most user friendly and we find a lot of people have a hard time with multi-layer, but if you're using Lightburn, it's much much more intuitive.

Would this also work with stainless steel but 18k plated gold over it? Or would the laser zap the gold plating off leaving the stainless steel visible underneath?

Depends on how thick the coating is but very likely you're going to just engrave the gold away. It's usually not very thick certainly not enough to withstand being blasted by the laser. I would proceed with caution and use very low power settings and high speeds if you're trying not to remove the gold.

Hey Bro....Quick question. I have a 80 watt CO2 laser like the one you changed the laser tube and water lines on in a video. My chiller is a CW3000. I live in South Carolina and this was bought from a guy in North Carolina.He had it less than a year and only had about 20 hours on it. When I`m cutting a lot (of course) the temperature starts to climb on my chiller. After I`m done cutting I still let my chiller run a while to bring the temp back down. It`s never gone past 29 degrees Celsius but it takes a good while before it will come back down. Is this normal? Also it a has an alarm on it for high temp but I don`t know what it is set on and no way to set it that I see. What Ya think?
@LaserEverything3 жыл бұрын
No not really normal. CW3000 is underrated for an 80w tube. You really need a 5200, there's a link to a legit one from cloudray in the buying guide: www.lasereverything.net/buyingguide It's probably FINE the way you have it set up but I would really consider upgrading if I were you. Then again some people chill their lasers with a paint bucket and a fish tank pump so... up to you. I recommend the upgrade though :P
