I'm getting ready to turn my 29 gal freshwater into a singleton figure 8 tank. This is so so helpful! The only videos I've found so far that explain brackish water mixing is yours! I've kept tanks for years and years but never brackish and finding info is so hard. And I have to say your personality is so entertaining! Amazing tank you have!

Hi great video and lovely tank. I'm planning on getting figure of 8 puffer fish I'm setting up a brackish tank as we speak but this brackish tanks is all new to me. This is my 3rd tank 😅 do you have any advice on setting up a brackish tank?

Hey, thanks for watching. Yes setting up brackish tanks can be stressful, but I think the best thing for you to do is get the instant ocean hydrometer and ensure the salt level is about 1.007 (salinity). I use instant ocean. Obviously cycle your tank so it’s safe for the fish to swim in. But once it’s set up, just do weekly water changes and you’ll have some pretty happy puffers! Good luck!

are those guppies in there? I also have guppies, but removed them when I added pea puffers into my tank, and upped the salinity

@@krovmorgue5556 Yes, those are guppies! I keep them in there to keep the puffers occupied. They’ll chase them around for a bit until they get tired. Plus, guppies breed quickly, so there are always babies in the tank with them, which works out great.

Not yet I have seen them in the store and have one too, but just haven’t set up a thing form yet. Have you ever had pea puffers? How many tanks do you have?
