Thank you for your video ♥️☘️ I’m currently deconstructing from a high demand religion. Your videos are simple enough that I can understand, but detailed in a way that gives helpful context. I’m also discovering my Irish roots, and determining my own personal spirituality. Lots of love, cheers! ❤️

Its nice to hear the cozy eerie sound of the wind again in your videos at 11:00 and 14:00. Winter in the northern hemisphere is certainly a time when we reflect deeper spiritually and in ways that gives us immense pleasure in being alive. It feels like fusing together with nature on an organic or genetic level based on our adaptable genes called phenotypes.

Have any of y'all heard of the weather prediction from before groundhogs day? It involves the temperature at imbalc, if the high temp on imbalc is higher than the day before, then winter will end early. I hear that in days of small villages they watch the crone if she restocks her wood pile for the stove then winter will be a bit longer. I use the temp difference one it hardly ever fails.

Thank you Luna for this interesting and informative video. I'm Irish through my father. It's important to reconnect with one's history. Recognizing Imbolc reminds us that the days are getting longer, sunlight is returning, new growth will be sprouting through the snow covered ground, and hope returns. Winter carries a gloom that often depresses the soul. Imbolc marks a time for me to plan my kitchen garden. I would get out for a meditative walk if the ground wasn't still covered with icy patches. Blessings to you and yours.

Thanks for this! I am endeavoring to be more pagan/Wiccan this year. Really to just slow down & be more aligned with the cycle of the year. Be more mindful about moon cycles, seasons, etc. - be more connected with the earth & nature.

Nice video. The midpoint between solstice and equinox, this year, falls upon 3rd Feb - if you are into precision - though, of course, the energy is a momentum that can last for days around that time. As some people wait for Hawthorn to blossom, to signify Beltane, I find myself looking for snowdrops for Imbolc :) The days are getting longer :)

Winter is my favorite season. Why is everyone looking forward to the awful heat of summer? Be different...
@Briardie9 күн бұрын
I do not think 'everyone' is looking forward to Summer. In the UK that would equate to a small handful of days each year anyway. It is the constant grey flat sheet, the sun trying desperately to break through. Last Winter in the UK we had 182 days of rain Oct-March. The seasons are not as fixed as they once were. So it is important to enjoy each day, regardless. It is the blue skies, natural fluffy white clouds and a little touch sun warming us, which I think a lot are wishing for. Even in Winter the sun is supposed to shine, dazzling off the snow. We are not getting that in the 2020s. Things are different because of changes with Nature, the Earth and our manmade interference. That is why following the true wheel of the year is uplifting. Embrace each beautiful day.

The snowdrops started growing late desember here in western Norway. Also i got the feeling that bad spirits wanted to sacrifice my old pet cat some years ago. Because everything, including the very cold weather. Came together to kill it 2 feb. A date used for sacrifices, among others. Although it could have been a coincidence. The rushes grow everywhere in wet ground here too, actually if you make a field for growing something and dont maintain it. Instead of grass you will have a field of rushes and birch trees. That also like wet ground.

11:00 just an FYI that smudging is a specific Indigenous practice which is closed to outsiders unless you've been initiated within an Indigenous tradition. Smoke cleansing is a practice done by many different cultures throughout history and the globe, but smudging is a specific practice within that. The difference is that smudging has specific elements such as abalone shells and eagle feathers along with certain other ritual elements. In Celtic terminology, we would use the word "saining" which is a type of smoke cleansing which comes from Gaelic culture. Saining is what most white people mean when we talk about "smudging".
