Just checked, after buying the Felco 2 I added the Felco 7 , Felco 100 for cutting flowers & Felco 310 for bulbs. 😂

I like my Felco 9’s - left hand pruners (secateurs, I just learned); I’m right handed but started getting a bit of the arthritis in my right elbow which was exacerbated by pruning right handed. I also have a rotating grip Felco, but I really don’t get the value from it I had thought I’d get. More often than not the rotation mechanism gets stiff, too. I’ve found simple is better

I bought the No. 2 first with a 910 (no sharpener loop) holster and 903 diamond sharpener. I wrote to Felco and suggested they release a holster with a loop for their 903 diamond sharpener because if one easily mislays secateurs with bright red handles then wait until a dark grey sharpener is misplaced. They never responded. I bought a Felco No. 13 clone. Same dimensions but either the metallurgy (alloy, tempering, hardening) isn't as good or the tolerances aren't so tight and stems get jammed between the faces of the blades which splays the bypass blade out. Not fun to use. Less than £10 in TK Maxx, so I guess I got what I paid for. 211-40 loppers next. I should have saved and got bigger ones. They are handy for working in a tree and not risking overstretching, not losing my balance with weightier loppers and for tight spots when stems are too thick for secateurs. I then bought a No. 8 (ergonomic version of No. 2) n 2021 and was delighted to see they had released a 910+ holster with sharpener loop, so I jumped on that which was an end to my sharpener search woes. I doubt the release of the 910+ holster was a result of me writing to them. A customer return "Used - Like New" £25 I've just bought a customer return pair of No. 22 loppers (half price). I'll probably get anvil cutters to chop deadwood. A pair of cut-and-holds would be useful so as not to handle thorny and prickly material, e.g blackberries, Rosa. I can cut, then drop the cut stems straight in the bag or bin. They have models now with tether rings listed on Felco's own main site. Oh no, I'm gong to have to buy a pair work working at height. Oh, and of course the No. 7s. I haven't developed a preference between the No. 2 and No. 8 secateurs. I like them both. I've some Japanese secateurs and snips too, though I normally reach for the Felco ones first. Jakoti (sheep) shears are heavily used too.

Wow,super great info for me. A serious master Gardner. I have been buying this brand for 20 years professional gardening. And did not know there were so many choices for a perfect fit. Now I have measured my hand and need a size 6. Right hand.

I wish I had watched your video prior to my purchase, as I had difficulty deciding which one (or two 😀) to purchase. However, I ended up ordering the F14 and F6 models, kept the F6, and returned the F14 (just a bit too small for me). My wife said I am obsessed with these and, I think she's right! I love these pruners and like you, will never buy a different brand as long as I live! Thanks for such a great review. I enjoyed your video, and love your accent!

I have been using the felco 6 for many years. I have a large garden over an acre lots of prunning and pollarding . Thank you for this video this has helped me decide whether to go for the rotating handle or not. Using the No 6 for everything and a huge amount of prunning i do suffer with fatigue in my thumb joint and get blisters too. This is the best guide i have seen thank you.

Useful. I had wondered if there is anything still made here in Europe. Most gardening shops here in Sweden are selling the usual cheap garbage, but there was a new, smaller shop that had a Felco display at the counter (Steninge Slott). I immediately recognized it. One of few tools my parents brought from Europe to California in the late 60's. I guess it is time to buy a new one for myself. Nice!

I think I need to go for the 17 since there is no size small for lefties (with very sore hands). A bit disappointed there is no size small available. But until now I’ve always used “regular” ones. Not even for left handed people (nor small, I just checked and noticed I tend to move my hand a tiny higher up on the handles to be able to fully open/close them. Will have to wait and see how they work for me. 🤞🏻 at least I’ve now seen the rotating handle in action. Thanks!

My hands measure 19cm from the tip of the middle digit to the heel of my hands. So that will be an F-16 or an F-17, or both. We already have a 46 year old F-4 that has been refurbished. It looks like new.

What size is your hand? My hand is 20.32 cm . I'm looking to ether buy the mode 7 or 8, do you think that those will fit comfortably in my hands? I only have a few trees in my backyard and I want to be able to cut up to 2.54 cm branches. Thank you.

I do bonsai and I know some bonsai artist's use Felco. How does Felco cut different from like say a regular straight prunning sheers compared to Felco classic pelican beak design style? What parts of a tree or plant can a Felco cut and what a Felco should NOT cut?
@matthiasglaschke594611 ай бұрын
You can definitely cut all parts of a tree or plant with the Felcos, if not too thick (use a saw instead), you just need the power 💪🏼 From my experience, only death wood needs a little harder or very hard effort - though with the Felco 2 it's even easier than with the Felco 8. Both are very robust models!

I don't understand why the design changes with the size. If i wanted a Felco 8, but smaller, I'd need to go for Felco 6, and this is by Felco's definition, less ergonomic as the blade isn't offset. Felco 8 is more like a small Felco 2. Daft product portfolio.
