It’s so good seeing aloe being incorporated into people’s routines . Even big brands are adding it to their products . Growing up in haiti this was used for every wash day
@woamajid51456 жыл бұрын
The aloe vera is great. I used it for the 1st time last wash and my hair loves it, more moisturized and for a longer period of time. Never tried shea butter, though. Buying it from the African vendors on the streets of Brooklyn N.Y., 2mrrw. Idk, im just not feeling the hype with these hair products that black-skin folks don't make or manufacture. I'm not saying they don't work, but all the money we spend on them does not profit us economically. Drink clean water, eat lots of veggies and fruits, consume less white flour, less sugar and less salt. Lots of sunshine and rest. And BUY BLACK!!

@Dee-MuckGirlGardener6 жыл бұрын
Word of advice, when you mix an aqueous/water based liquid like aloe Vera juice, with a lipid/fat/oil based ingredient, you need a broad spectrum preservative also. Aloe will spoil if nit refrigerated and when water and oil mix it will grow mold, mildew, yeast, fungi, and bacteria. I've seen many mix these two in the same container to sit. No bueno! Id advise using it seperate like you are.
@thefinelife22475 жыл бұрын
@Adrian Stoddard Because the water dries in your hair. Microorganisms cannot grow, eat or reproduce without a water-based environment, so once the water dries up, any potential microorganism that found its way into the water product dies off, and cannot reproduce. Thus no matter how many times you add water-based products to your hair (regardless of whether there is a preservative or not), as long as the water dries up within a 24 hour period, your hair and scalp will be fine.

I wan't to love shea butter as much as so many other people do but I've had a love-hate relationship with it. I like that its natural and that it seals in moisture, but its usually too thick and hard seems to just sit on top of my strands. But I think I just learned something new today...heat it up! I hadn't tried that before. I used aloe vera for the first time 2 days ago, yeah I got a whiff of the funk too but my hair doesnt smell bad either. I'm excited to try a combo of aloe vera, then shea. Great video!

I'm newly obsessed with aloe vera! I use it in my DIY body scrubs and I recently started doing a daily face mask with it and my skin is FLOURISHING!!! Can't wait to use it on my hair! Also, you can remove the aloe vera flesh from the leaf, put it in a blender to make it last longer! I know it's only $2 but you can stretch it even further this way!

For everybody saying they hate the smell of aloe Vera, chop it up In pieces about the same size that she did, and soak it in water for about 4-8 hours. The water will turn red, which is extracting the poison from aloe Vera (which may be the reason some of you break out bc of aloe Vera) You will also no longer have the smell.

@@caramelkimmiekim8272 Ok...I've watched several videos....a few didn't wash it out...but I assumed it would be sticky and probably itchy.

This was ages ago but for anyone who wants to try this, scraping the gel out and mixing it is a way better method bc you need way less and it’s easier to apply

Lol. The Alikay Shea Yogurt is a sealant, even though it says moisturizer. The product is filled with Shea butter and oils. You just put sealant on top of sealant. Lol Luckily, your hair was moisturized from the aloe Vera.

Which is great! Many naturals with hip length (type 4) hair moisturize with water and seal using lots of oils and Shea Butter. I, myself, am retaining length using oils and Shea Butter every day.
