Agree with you on the most part. The impact to me is super helpful especially removing caliper bolts as impact wrenches don’t usually fit in those areas. I have the first generation of the fuel ratchets in both regular and extended. If you are working on top of an engine the regulars are great if you are working down in the engine compartment the extended are better. The extra power of the first gen fuel is very handy even though they are mildly slower and have a larger head than the gen 2 high speed fuel ratchets.

I got both regular high speed ratchets last year & they immediately made my OG brushless ones obsolete. Also have the 3/8 RAI that I got for the sole purpose of doing seat bolts. That guy does good on calipers, front engine, pretty much anywhere you need a bit more torque with little room. 3/8 stubby impact barely gets used.

I just broke down and ordered my first electric ratchet after popping a couple of exhaust manifold bolts on the way to work this morning. Having already done the job once a few years ago I figured this would make it less of an extreme-anger-inducing pain in the dick. After seeing the 3/8 and 1/4 side by side I regret buying the 3/8.

@@BlakesGarage have you tried the 6 ah on it? It gives it a extra +\- 20 tq or about a 10% power bump compared to the cp 2.0. also another trick for another 5% +\- power bump is to use the battery fresh off the charger. It wouldn’t bust a suspension bolt I couldn’t reach with the stubby and It immediately broke free with these two steps,

I just don’t get the 1/4” drive unless it is super small nuts or bolts. My mid length 3/8 are shorter than a 1/4 deep. And my 3/8 stubys are shorter than a 1/4 standard. So I actually have more room for tight spaces in the 3/8 drive. Just my opinion. I have the high speed extended, the stuby impact and the right angle all in 3/8”. Then a half inch mid torque for bigger stuff. Really all I need

Not really. Bad design starts with a bad designed push lever. Looks very flimsy and can get stucked and does not look very stable means can rip off or be damaged quick. And the smsll batteries don't look very confident neither. Also Milwaukee handtools very often are bad quality like pliers are misalined. Can't understand why so many of you guys are on that Milwaukee bandwagon. 7:13

@@ssjdavid It depends on each individual and the kind of work you are doing. Do and buy what you are comfortable with and don't listen to all these wanna be tool specialists here on their different channels in regards of what to use especially brand wise. Milwaukee battery tools are not necessary better just because lots of people think so and try to influence people. I do not only watch for longevity but more than not on the design and handybility and that overall is way better with Dewalt. I know i wlll get a lot of criticism for this now but voting for the same party every 4 years doesn't necessary make things change to your advantage.

Great demo, thanks! I have a question about the impact-capable tool. Is the head locked while not operating, or in other words, can you apply torque manually or only with the powered ratchets? In other-other words: can I use it as an extension of my "built-in-my-arms torque wrench".

Yes. I own it. They are called the Milwaukee right angle drill. I had it for 10 years. I use a 3/8 inch socket adapter, use a 17mm socket, and can use it the same way. Obviously it's not super super powerful. So if your working in a hard to reach area on your cars suspension, break the 15mm bolt loose with a ratchet, then you can use your milwaukee like a ratchet. It comes in handy when your installing oil pans, and etc. You don't want to lose your mind, so using a milwaukee drill with the adapters will painlessly remove the 15 bolts.

Man why do you turn the big electric wrench by hand under the car? Makes absolutely no sense. Just tighten it up til it stops then keep the fastener in place with it and tighten the nut with the regular wrench in your other hand. I'd use regular wrenches on both ends anyway doing that as it gives you way better feeling to tighten the fastener.
