Good guide, but I Didn T find the only answer I was here for... How to enable a boss icon for instance bosses?? I Don t need rare or elite icon, world boss icon don t work... I only need a good boss icon for instance and raid, like you can set in threat plate or tidy plates, I prefer plater, but I think it s impossible for the most complete plates addon to lack something so basic... On indicators there is not that option... I repeat I Don t need the elite and rare icon, and however i think it S ridiculous the only icon you can set for elite is an horrible star in mega square pixels at Gameboy (not advance) definition, but for boss icon it S different, I like it... Is there something I Don T know, or maybe it needs to be integrated with another addon?

whoa whoa stop! At @1:02:00 is a GAME CHANGER!! When changing NPC colors, I always struggle to write the name down and then remind myself later to go into Plater, find the mob, and change the color. I +NEVER KNEW+ you could just open Plater, and now a drop-down menu appears for the mobs?!! That's HUGE!!! I can't wait to try this, as some of the mobs in S3 M+ are not in Plater. My Plater is current, but there are still 2-4 mobs that are important, but their names aren't in Plater, I can't change the color-- but I bet this will work!!! HUGE tip!!! Thank you!!!!

Great guide (as always). One suggestion, given the number of fights that require healers to target and heal NPCs (Fyrakk, Larodar, Chromie, M+ afflicted) it would be awesome to have a bit more guidance on friendly NPC setup for healers. Maybe a short video to the side? ;-)

One thing I found personally helpful is to just disable as much extra information at first as u can when u first set this up, and make sure you're familiar with how the new plates look first and then add in the helpful information like colours

First of all I would like to say your the best WOW content provider out there! That is why I am reaching out to you. I could use your help! In additon to having my dots tracked on the Plates of the Mobs, Plater has also DOT Timers that show the icons of all my DOTS with their expiration timers. I use your plater profile and want to move my DOTs Corrupt UA Agony etc to a differnt postion on my screen. I have not figured out where to do this in Plater. Running this profile on 17 keys right now and did the same on S3! Its very good but there are some mistakes in the bars. RLP 1st boss for instance has a kickable cast (important one) and the bar isn't like it supposed to be. There some more mistakes on colour and kickable adds. can write them down for ya but new expansion almost there. Thank for all the hardwork an I love it ;)

Thanks so much, this helped a ton. The only question I have is, is there a way to "force" certain debuffs to be displayed first in order from left to right regardless of time remaining? For instance, with assassination rogue, is there a way to always show garrote and rupture first, instead of having all the icons jump around when kingsbane or deathmark or shiv or other important debuffs reach a lower timer than them? Considering you refresh garrote and rupture between 4-6 seconds, any debuffs that you let fall off or get lower than 4 seconds just bump them around.

Awesome video as always! I would just like to know can we change a color of a nameplate of the mob that has certain dot on it? For example as a warlock i need to apply doom brand on different targets... when there are many mobs it's hard to see which mob has it and which doesn't... it would be helpful to change the color of a plate that is affected by a spell and to return to its base color when doom brand expires... is it possible?

love your videos! not sure if you'll see this or maybe someone else can explain. is there a way to have all the custom colors mobs (casters/frontals) be the default red or the "not engaged" color when not engaged and then turn to their custom colors when engaged? now all casters are always fuchsia if engaged or not. I changed transparency for out of range targets which helps but a uniform color setting for all not engaged targets would be great. I know this is a very niche request but it would help my dps ranged (hunter!) friends with avoiding ninja pulls.

I really appreciate your work on explaining Plater - I learned quite a few things, which I really like. I'm still really sad though, because I'm looking for very specific fade/hide rules for neutral enemies and hostile... and I still have issues that Plater can't fix - I've imported in modding to hide things but instead there is a millisecond delay between things being shown and then hidden (if you move your screen around) and it's so frustrating. I have yet to find the perfect addon - I've used Kui, Elvui Nameplates and now Plater, and each of them does something right compares to the others, but nothing has all the features :( EDIT: Shot in the dark, but anyone please let me know if you know of a way to make Elvui nameplates to show Quest interactive Friendly NPCs, or make Plater hide health bars out of combat, and hide neutral npc names (and health bars out of combat) - without having the flicker affect on the neutral mobs when using mouseover.

Does Plater have a large Impact on FPS/Performance? I have a modest system with only a handful of addons but I know WoW in itself isnt optimized very well in terms of distributing resources. I have since moved from KUI > TP > Plater and would like to keep the addon as lightweight as possible if it can drop frames in large M+ pulls.

When I play as a caster I sometimes need to look from above but then I miss a lot of nameplates. Is there a way to keep all nameplates of the mobs in front of you on screen even if you look down? Feel like I sometimes need to have my camera in the ground to see all the nameplates of a big pull.

I want to SEE the health bars of PEOPLE IN MY GROUP but ONLY WHEN THEY ARE MISSING HEALTH. As a healer, this helps me know where to drop aoe heals. Plater does NOT seem to do this. It has options that would make you THINK it does this, but they DO NOT WORK. Friendly health bars are either always on no matter the health status, which is a fluster cluck, or they are always OFF which is useless.

Thanks for the video. I don't know if I missed it, but where can I add threat colors to my and my group's nameplates? I am using your Plater setup, but I am not getting a threat indicator on my nameplate or any of my group members. I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi, thanks for all your hard work. I'm trying to change the view distance of the name plates for mobs, but it won't let me go beyond 20. I type in 40 but it reverts back to 20. This was the only thing I wanted to change from your import string from your site (Classic, SoD). I've checked the section in the video, and it seems like 20 is the max distance. Really? that seems too close for a caster.

Yes - it’s a server side limitation from blizzard, quite a common question actually.

Yo Quazii! Is there a way to change the size/visibility of nameplates based on exact mob or mob type? For one of my farms, there are non-elites and I am trying to have them not show up, or be much smaller than the elite mobs.

Is it possible to change the font, outline, and size of my own personal name that shows above my head when I have it enabled in wow settings? I don’t see any options for this in Plater, I see bold outline for other players but not myself.😢

I have a question about when you're in tight areas or you have your camera facing towards the ground from above. i find the nameplates start overlapping more and it can become hard to see the mobs sometimes. I have tried spacing them out more and adjusting some stuff in advancedinterfaceoption but nothing really changes. i might of missed it in this video but is there any plater settings to help with that?
