Love the video, but a recommendation for those just getting into fishing. Academy has a very good budget line of rods (H20 series) that I have abused and used to catch countless fish. Also there are plenty of budget spinning reels that will more than get the job done. My personal mantra is to never spend more than 150 dollars on a rod and reel combo because I do a ton of kayak fishing and losing an expensive rod or reel would down right suck. It’s always nice to have expensive gear but it isn’t necessary to catch fish.

I have a 13 year old quantum it’s a great brand. I was a 1 rod 1 reel guy until about a year ago so I used this $100 bill dance quantum combo for over a decade and it’s still kickin. I hope norm sees this lol. Give quantum a shot.

I like your video's but I can't rock with all your suggestions. I love my Shimano poison adrena rod 7'4" medium-heavy with metanium DC reel. It's really and incredible combo. I've had bad luck with the rotator I bought several. They seem to bind up and twist my line a lot. The Whopper plopper works much better.

Piscifun reels aren’t top of the line, but I have the Torrent and it’s pretty good for the price. It was easy to dial in, casts pretty far and hasn’t failed in three years. I’ve used a SixGill Typhoon which is a $159 reel and I actually like the Piscifun reel better. I’ve got everything from super cheap, I tried a reel from Wish, to Shimano reels. I really like Shimano. By the way, I was surprised by the reel from Wish. It’s nowhere near a top-tier reel, but it does pretty well. I haven’t tried Kastking, but I might soon.

A good starter baitcaster is probably a silver max or black max by abu garcia I have a black max I got it and have not had a problem. My brother got one and it was $60 and it works great
