As far as reliability tests go for motorcycles there aren't too many more demanding than an Iron Butt. Not only is this tough on any motorcycle but it's also tough on the rider. In today's video Chase sets off for his second attempt at an Iron Butt Challenge...but this time hes solo!

I originally came to this channel in 2014. To see Chase grow from a hungry, scrappy young guy on an R6 (Holley), to the adventurous, patient man just slayin' the miles is such a cool story! Ride on, Chase!

If you've never done a mega mile trip you don't realize how tiring it is. Concentration, wind noise, buffeting and being in one position for long periods. If you are a biker then you know. This guy is doing really well. The last time I did a mega trip was years back to the the South of France. Just over 1000 miles each way. You've a real sense of achievement at journeys end.

The MCU System failure was caused due to high temperature on your engine caused by the heavy traffic part of your trip. The update that CFMoto did to your bike, changed the way the fan works to keep temperature down. That's why you did not see it again, now the engine fan works more to keep temperature down.

Welcome to the Ironbutt Association my friend! My wife and I completed two and have now thought about the one that goes East Coast to West Coast of the US. I'm 71 now so not sure if I want to attempt it or not. Anyway, you are one of the "Worlds Toughest Motorcyclists" now. BTW, loved the video and the IBEX is one I'm considering after I rack some more miles up on my Triumph Tiger.

I've done more than 1k miles from Riga, Latvia to Calais, France. (Twice) one in 2022 and another time in 2023. It took about 23.5hrs first time, second time I simply could not be asked to go through it once again so i took a night rest. But i know how exhausting it is specially on a 2016 BMW F800GT and second time on 2013 Triumph Speed Triple. So well done Chase!

Congratulations! My first IB was on a Triumph Thunderbird Storm. 18hrs 31min. Second IB was on two different bikes. Rode up to northern MO on the Triumph and back down on a Kawasaki Vaquero. There was a long stop at the turn while we waiting on the mechanic to go over the bikes (we were trading titles) and put new tires and oil in the Vaquero, but I made it back in 23hrs and 48min. Since then, I have done about a dozen more including 1500 under 24 on different bikes, but I will never do another one without cruise control.

Riding on any bike basically non stop for 1000 miles is an accomplishment but no wonder you needed coffee, those roads are so long and so straight for the most part. Good on you for completing the ride safely on a very capable bike. Here in New Zealand, most but not all, of our roads are only one lane each way and can be very twisty at times! which we riders love. Not many long straights. Although the roads over there appear in much better condition! On our roads we also have to be alert to the sad state of most road conditions to avoid potholes! The CF Moto 800 is a great bike. I ride a 2017 Suzuki vstrom 650 that I take on gravel roads a lot, but also enjoy riding my 2014 HD Fat Bob. Thinking of replacing the vstrom with the latest 2023 incarnation of the CFMoto 800MT Explore. All the issues have been addressed and corrected, like the snatchy throttle. It now also has 6 riding modes and an 8 inch screen. Enjoyed watching your video. Question though. If that was a 1000 mile challenge, were you stopping overnight on the way? What was all the luggage for?

What a great video, thanks for sharing it and congratulations on completing over 1,000 miles Chase! I just purchased this exact bike (except I have the CFMoto hard bags on mine) and really love it. I sold a Kawasaki Versys 1000 which I also liked, but I had two major complaints with that bike. One, the cables were so short I couldn't install any bar raisers, and they are lower on that bike than the CFMoto. Also, the seat was not comfortable. I even sent it to Sargent Seats (they have never let me down) but even they couldn't make it better. This bike comes with so many things that the Versys didn't have (cruise control, fog lights, heated grips and seat, Nav system, etc.) and it was literally half the price (I paid $8,500) with everything but the bags which I purchased separately for $1399, and that included the trunk that the Versys also didn't have. Can't wait to put some serious miles on it!

congrats man. I found the channel just the other day as I started down the rabbit hole of researching a new bike. I love this bike. I also enjoyed your Transalp video. That was my other contender. I am quite nervous to pull the trigger on either because I presently ride a much much different bike. I have a CVO Ultra Limited. So.... a big heavy touring bike. But I am honestly over that type of bike and riding. Regardless of my HDs performance or dependability I do at least know on long rides there is a dealer is almost every city you roll through, major ones that is. So when planning my upcoming cross country trip that is a consideration. This CF moto is easily in the lead, I feel like it is a lot of bike for the money. My concern or question would be about the serviceability. I would be afraid of a break down somewhere and not be able to get parts or have repairs made. How do you feel about that when it comes to this bike?

Man, riding heavy hours during the night and seeing the sun come out feels like you're being given a 2md chance at something, like you're on chapter 2, having gone through a lot of shitty stuff, feeling tired, but you're given another chance, with better conditions, it's chapter 2 and you're all for it.

A giant congratulations to you on your iron butt accomplishment. I was wondering if you still like the bike after riding over 1000 miles in one setting. Apparently you do. You should do another shorter video chase on how you feel about the bike now after accomplishing this amazing goal. FYI, I always stand on the left foot peg and then swing my leg over when mounting or un-mounting on my adventure bike. There’s a whole lot less hopping going on, especially when you’re tired and possibly stumbling off the bike.

@Chase love the video. I would love to see a full in-depth review of all the dash settings/options/phone integration both with iPhone and Android. I would recommend filming with the surrounding lights off to get a sense of the TFT contrast. I like my blacks black! Make sure to go through the manual and talk to the manufacturer as there might be some settings that get overlooked. Also are any of the handlebar controls backlit?

I'm a new subscriber. I own a New 22 Royal Enfield Himalayan I bought in 2023. I am looking to go visit family in June. I decided to look at a CF MOTO and your channel came up. I live in the Myrtle Beach SC area and plan on going to Fort Fairfield Maine to visit family. I'm looking at a Husqvarna Norden 901 fully dressed with hard Paniers or a 650 or 800 CF MOTO. I've looked at a Tiger 900 ralley used with all the Triumph hard Paniers. The Norden is about $2k more than the CF MOTO. I would take the Himalayan, but it does not have cruise and top speed is literally 65-70mph. Great video

as a truck driver, night drives has its advantages, most of the crazy drivers, are sleeping it off. no traffic, & no cops. ( my best was on a 2007 Yamaha Venture, pulling a large Matrix Rover trailer 1027 miles in 23 hours and 18 minutes.) Riding at night, you need extra driving lights (LED) ( By the way ) a 20 minute power nap does wonders

Closest I've come is 900 miles in a day. Ann Arbor Michigan --> Mackinac Bridge and Upper Peninsula, Michigan, then west across Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The next day I rode back Ann Arbor , traveling southeast back across Wisconsin to Chicago Illinois, around the south end of Lake Michigan, and back east across Michigan - a 700 mile day, completing a 1600 mile weekend. When planning 1000+ mile days, my plan has always been to finish shortly before sunset and plan when to leave accordingly. The logic is doing the night riding/driving when I'm fresh and arrive at the destination by daylight when I'm tired. Those early starts have also frequently helped with getting through major cities in the early morning hours when traffic is lightest. That 1000 miles in 18 hours pace is pretty close to what I do and plan around.

Update comment now that I finished watching the show. Congrats on meeting your goal. I will not take you up on your suggestion to try it myself. I used to want to tour the country and even bought a touring bike. That bike is now gone and I’m on an MT-09 because turns out I just like being a hooligan. Also I’ve had to push my bike home a mile up hill recently and that was enough headache to makeup for an iron butt challenge. I’m almost 40, fat, out of shape, with asthma. That was the closest I’ve been to my breaking point and I don’t want to try and test that again
