Surely now the window can no longer go up and down with the speaker foam in place?

LOL... Never thought of that. Good catch! Also, why don't they just make it so the foam and the silver sheets are one piece? Why double the labor time?

Well you trim to give glass enough space..

It doesn’t even affect anything

There’s plenty of room inside that door. Every car is different but in most cars post 1995 there’s more than enough room between the glass and the outer skin for sound treatment products

@@shane250 there’s many reasons why, but mostly because you use a different overlayer in different areas, for example overkill in doors, carpet pad on the floor, hood liner on the firewall or roof etc etc. also each layer rolls or applies slightly different. If you don’t get that first layer 100% rolled out and applied correctly, you can create air pockets which creates issues in the future.

Hi mate, I’ve mounted alubotyl and sound damping foam behind my speaker in my car. Should i put the stinger foam circle behind it too? Making it three layers behind the speaker in total, or is it all right as is? Cheers

As long as there's a smooth surface to adhere the foam circle to, it will be an advantage.

@@StingerAustraliatv okay thank you for answer. What about trapping moisture inside the door with this piece of foam. And can it touch the speaker magnet? Thank you stinger

@@oscarschiff9180 As this Pad is attached to the other layers of deadener that are both water resistant this should not be an issue when installed correctly. As for touching the back of the speaker that should be fine, but just make sure upon installation that you still have sufficient space for the window to travel down through, Thanks Oscar.
