I’ve been fulltime in a 2016 Thor Axis 25.2 since 2017. First solo, now with my husband of 3 years. We love it. Got the SafeTPlus bar immediately so no highway driving issues. Windshield replaced twice but no issues with insurance. The big windshield let’s in so much light that it’s worth it. The size is right for fitting most places including friends driveways. We pull a 2016 Ford Fiesta. We have no desire to change our RV. I’m a rare case that picked the right rig the first time. Feel free to ask me any questions

I love the format of these reviews! We had a 2021 Thor Vegas 24.1 (same as Axis). Smaller than the one they’re driving in this video. The design was perfect with the exception of the dreaded shower. It drove extremely well, very easy to maneuver. Actually fun to drive. But the quality build was horrible. Others have had challenges with Thor, too.

We have a 2018 Axis and we really enjoy it but it has the problems that are associated with a lower end, more affordable class A. It absolutely needed a steering stabilizer and heavy duty sway bars. Those improvements made a tremendous difference to the handling on highways and on windy days.

We test drove the 2024 Vegas version of the Axis on Interstate I95 . We were down sizing from a 40 ft class A and thought this the perfect fit for our limited travels. DANGEROUS is the one word I would use driving at highway speeds in a 15 to 20 mph crosswind. We had the salesperson and two friends with us on the test drive. Others have called the experience as white knuckle driving but the more accurate description would be Dangerous in windy conditions. We are told a $5k upgraded in after market suspension parts and another 3K to 5K installation cost could make a substantial improvement to the safety of this model. Sadly we had to decline the purchase and have yet to find our perfect small motorhome. We have decided to put off our search until after the 2024 presidential election to commit time and money to our final decision but unless the manufacturer puts the properly engineered suspension on the Vegas/Axis models it will not be our choice.

We’ve added the Safe T Plus in all of our Class A’s. Really made a difference with the exception of the Tiffin. It was great on the Vegas. Purchase and installation ranged from $1600 - $2200 at the stealership.

Comment Funniest Video I have seen’ in a while. Loved the video especially the bathroom comments, the bedroom step comment and the couch wrap up at the end. Looking forward to next video. We have a class A but now we are looking for a smaller rig for the lower 48 and Canada.

Hello and thank you for the review I actually build these axis units and we are striving to build the best product we can The model (26.1) does come with a couch instead of a theater seat. Once the slide is all the way out the theater seats will lock in place once leaning back. But we really appreciate the review good and bad it helps us to improve our products

Class A maintenance! I’ve heard quite a few horror stories about trying to take a Class A to a dealership or a shop for maintenance and fixing issues - even recalls. It appears most Ford dealership would not service them - not even the business and heavy duty vehicle dealership. Please see if you can find more information about Class A maintenance at dealerships - maybe even take the Class A you get for a camping trip into a car/truck dealership (not RV dealership) and see if they’re willing to service it. This would be CRITICAL for anyone considering buying one. Thank you 🙏

Well we owned one a 2018 model. It was a POS. The cab a/c did not work because the system was missing some major components. A small town mechanic in Central Texas found the problem after three trips to the dealer. There were a lot of quality problem with the unit, like staples in the shower's water lines that did not manifest itself until after the "warranty period". Again Thor is a POS.

We considered one but the salesman was honest, and after knowing what we were driving, said we wouldn’t be happy. And it felt cheap.

One of the big reasons we decided not to buy one of these short class A’s was the windshield. They are not very common which means they will have a hard time trying to replace them. Most bigger class A’s use common sizes that can regularly be in stock
@1hackmodeller5572 ай бұрын
We had a Thor Vegas 24.1. It was built during COVID so we had a few issues. No big deal. The biggest issue was the top corners of the windshield trim kept popping out. Had to have it fixed 3 times in 1.5 years. The big contoured windshield is a nightmare.

On our 2021 Vegas, we had the Electric Stabilizing System (auto levelers). It was included as an “option’ on the sticker for $825. Worked well.

They're stablizers but not technically "auto-levelers"...they each go up/down, that's it.

@@jdavidson You may be correct, although I never had to level the coach when I used them. Perhaps I was just lucky! Now that I think about it, they never did the “level dance” like my Tiffin or Holiday Rambler.

Best small Class A ever was the Winnebago Via/Itasca Reyo twins. Built on the stripped Sprinter chassis, they were far more quiet and luxurious than any of these. That chassis is sadly discontinued. The Europa is closer, but too bulky and stiff. It would have been much better on an E450 chassis.

I think these coaches are a wonderful design , but Thor has apparently outdone themselves again on the “cheap”, not so well thought out features. I remember the video a few years back where the door feel out on the folks first trip. Please, someone else build this plan with a quiet genny, quiet electric bed motor, good furniture, etc. Got the message Thor?

my experience if I don't use my range hood fan when cooking, the smoke alarm will alert. Lack of range hood and fan is a significant con. the onan 4k generator is annoyingly loud. we would love to find something better than our 20 year old airstream class a, but no luck yet. transit and sprinter chassis a little too small and the ford class a chassis is somewhat slow and cumbersome. we just tested a 2025 coachmen euro and it rode poorly and the power just isn't there, mostly noise.

I know Thor calls that 60x74 mattress a queen size, but it is a full six inches shorter than what the mattress and bedding industries call queen size. They made a "full" size mattress six inches wider, that's all. Why does the RV industry think they can con people about what they are buying, all the time?

1. That front window with curves top to bottom and left to right has got to be expensive to replace. Any idea on the cost? 2. No levelers would be a deal breaker. 3. If the rig is at GVWR, is there still 5K# before you hit the GCWR? 4. On a sunny day, you would be running the Gen set to power the roof AC, so what’s the big deal with using it at a rest stop for lunch? 5. Onan suggests 2 hours per month with a load to exercise their generators. 6. Any cameras on that front screen - left, right rear? 7. No inverter is a deal breaker.
