'City Fall' actually made me cry, when Leo remembered his mother's face, amazing arc of the IDW run. And I would highly suggest checking out 'Shedder in Hell', that book is baller.

I agree that Batman/ TMNT is amazing outside of the multiversal aspect, it's kind of why I feel the animated movie is a near flawless adaptation. It cuts all the fluff and focuses on what made that crossover so unique. We did sadly lose the scene where Batman takes Raph to Crime Alley, which is a Cowabummer, but still.

I’m always a sucker for the Leonardo solo issues with him being my favorite turtle, that original one from the mirage run that has like no text in the snow is so awesome

The IDW series has been full of memorable issues. Specifically, #44. Donatello being killed by Bebop and Rocksteady blew my mind. Rocksteady’s line, “Didya expect it to look like that under there?” really hit home the gruesomeness of it all.

IDW issue #50 is my personal favourite. So much happened in that issue - the Splinter and Foot Clan tournament, Donatello's badass return, the Shredder fight on the roof, Splinter beheading Shredder, etc.

What a fun episode! 😃 Matthew, you demonstrated remarkable restraint by not talking about how April finds out about her origin as a living drawing. Laird didn't have to write about Renet and April transforming into cockroaches to witness April's creation. He really didn't need to explain in great detail how April and Renet live with the cockroaches, eat with the cockroaches and even mate with the cockroaches. If we are going to make fun of a clown, as Sal put it, I think I'd start with Laird having April exclaim now she knows why they're called "cock-roaches." I'm not the least bit mad, Laird had a story in him and he obviously needed to exercise that particular demon, but as a reader - - whoof! What a cowabungle!

""cowabungle" is my new favorite word. And yes, those scenes are very much the "scenes from Stephen King's IT we don't talk about" level of 'we don't talk about that' lol"

Issue 150 of IDW’s TMNT has a special place in my heart, not just because it’s a beautiful ending, but because I think it’s Sophie Campbell looking at her time writing the series and going “yeah, you turned out a little different from how I envisioned, but you still deserve to exist”.

@@EngenBooks it’s great, and a nice capstone to all the trans allegories spread throughout her run. Looking forward to Aaron’s era of TMNT, but I’m really going to miss Campbell.

I think my brother had that same turtles tape. He was the one that grew up on the show, but that scene ran through my head before Sal got to the punchline. Neat!

My favorite issue of TMNT has got to probably be #50 of the original Mirage run. The beginning of the "City at War" arc if only for it being the start of that really good story and art for the scene of the bomb going off is just incredible.

First 100 issues and a lot of the tie in micros of the IDW are the best way to consume the turtles, particularly the city fall stuff from secret history to Northampton is my personal favorite, but all the others are fun too, even the image series, some of its fun if you don’t take anything too seriously and like the turtles in general, are not meant to be taken to seriously

The Batman/TMNT movie adaptation is perfection. I think its better than the comic in most regards.

The Batman/ Ninja Turtles comic is a good read, but in my honest opinion the animated movie perfected it! One of those rare times the adaptation is better than the original.
