@@ultimatehandyman removed and replaced the broken tile, then noticed 2 more, where the scaffolder had walked on the roof. Second one swapped no probs, but the third one was two courses down from the Ridge, so was inflexible. Had to use a rubber mallet to even get the tiles above to retract, then they all became stuck. Fought them for 10 minutes no movement and it started raining☔️ 😭😭😭.😆🙄🤦♀️🤷♀️ Luckily I had a professional car door card tool, which rocks them up and back. After watching this video going via the safety of the velux window with just my arms outside I pushed the above tile up, slid up the loose tile and screwed it back down followed by pulling back the tile above. Sorted!. The original nail for some reason wasn't long enough, the long thin screw worked a treat.

Great video. We had scaffolding up on our kitchen roof to get to the main roof to replace broken and missing tiles and the scaffolding broke 6 tiles under the boards they'd placed to spread the load. Scaffolders said they'd inform the roofer. We've tried for a week to get in touch but all means of communication have failed so now I have to source replacement tiles and do it myself before the rain comes next week 😡.

Hi mate , great vid , I have a dormer bungalow and all the water from the fibreglass part of the roof is channled down one row of tiles due to it collecting in the dormer gutter and flowing through the down pipe and as a result this one row of tiles are starting to look very thin due to the cascading water taking off the sandy surface , ( the tiles look identical to the ones you show in your video ) is it possible that I can just swap them around with some other tiles that are not getting the same treatment elsewhere on the roof ? You're advise would be greatly appreciated . Hi mate .I have slow dripping leak in the roof .one or more tiles have eroded or broken letting in water slowly and the felt must be soaking up the water. i am being told that the whole roof needs to be replaced or at the least one side. This to me seems ridiculous .Is it not possible for a tradesman to erect scaffolding and fined and replace the broken tiles .I have been told that the felt does not stop water the roof tiles do that so if thats the case why i am being told the whole of one side needs to be removed and replaced when its simply a matter of fining and replacing the broken tiles? can you give your best thoughts on this please.
@ultimatehandyman7 жыл бұрын
You have to be careful with some roofers as they will try it on. A roofer tried to rip me off about 10 years ago, which is one reason why I set up my website (then the KZbin channel). The felt is supposed to be waterproof and any water that gets through or under the tiles is supposed to run down the felt into the gutter. You are sure that your problem is not caused by condensation? I'd get opinions from at least three different roofers to be on the safe side ;-)
