I do pressure washing and when i do roof washing customers always ask if i know how to change broken roof tiles i think its time to learn ..great video 👍
@delolivo200918 күн бұрын
we always learn from some one also and is good ,my only advise is do not put glue on the bottom channel were the water goes away , under the over Lapp is perfect ,but don't block the water on Chanel ,

UK, we have a lip at the head onto a roofing batten, as well as two galvanised clout nail holes, every second row usually nailed but that ratio can vary, but ta for the upload.

If you do a lot of repairs it's worth using a brickies trowel to lift the whole tile from the bottom, you can use the leverage to evenly place the new tiles nibs over the baton

Question. I see the adhesive applied at the bottom of an interlocking channel. Won’t that allow for potential interference with water flow? I’m seeing the TRI/WSRCA installation manual instruct to avoid that location and instead make sure to apply the adhesive above the headlap. In other words on the top area of the previous tile course, which would be where the underside of that tile meets the tile beneath it. The top part of the channel is fine and water would flow right over it since the channel in the above tile course covers it, but the bottom of the channel is in the path of the water.

You are 100% correct. I usually use foam, but unfortunately I did this video on a whim much planning and only had rt-600 so did it the way that 99% of roofers do it which is incorrect. If I had any idea this video would have so many views, I would have planned a little better.

Can someone please tell me the name for that tile ?? I have the same ones....
@JGraham63 Жыл бұрын
That one is a Villa 900. However, there are a dozen different profiles that look almost exactly the same but are not compatible because of very small difference in size or interlock.

Wow we don't screw tiles down in NZ, what a pain. We nail every second one so u can easily kick up one of the tiles above an replaced even easier. Double screw would only be in high wind areas an a major pain for roofers. Good video anyway 👍

Couldnt you use a drill and a right angle adapter and unscrew the old screws and put new ones in? Looks like there is plenty of space when you pull up the top tile
@JGraham637 ай бұрын
The screws are 3" and installation specs only allow for up to 2" of nose deflection.

I have been trying to find that very tile to replace some cracked ones. What is the name of the tile?
@precisionroofconsulting17134 жыл бұрын
This tile is a Boral Villa 900. But there are quite a few tiles that look very similar to this one with slight differences in the size and interlock, none of which are compatible with one another. I would be happy to help you identify your tile if you want to send me a few profile shots. The stamp on the back will tell me a lot, but we can usually identify with just a few decent photos of the tile and interlock. You can email them directly to me at Joe@PRC-FL.com.

@@precisionroofconsulting1713 the old tile was vanguard roll. I got a sample of the villa 900 and it was not aligned. Do know where I can find a similar groove pattern and size?
@precisionroofconsulting17134 жыл бұрын
Nothing fits with Vanguard Roll other than Vanguard Roll as is the case with almost all concrete roof tile. There are a few distributors out there that deal in salvage tile though. My local go-to boneyard here in Central Florida is All Points Tile & Slate. Unfortunately, they are completely out of Vanguard at the moment. Tile Roofs Inc. Is probably your best bet. They’re in Indiana, but ship nationwide. www.tileroofs.com.

Villa 900 concrete tiles. There are a lot of them that looks very similar though. Have to make sure you get the same profile you have. Otherwise they won’t interlock correctly.
