This was needed years ago. I no longer use primer tubes in my reloading process. I tried all the tube loaders and gave up. I now prime my cases during the case insptection/decapping process using a Lee primer loader. If I wasn't, I would buy this.

You don't want that because if a primer flashes off, it will detonate the entire thing. The Dillon tube is strong enough to contain the blast but a plastic container full of primers is bound to send fragments everywhere.

I would only buy one if I could shoot a LOT more. Unless you’re loading a ton of ammunition (and already run a case and bullet feeder) I can’t imagine justifying it. You pretty much need to be just pulling the handle and watching the electronic alarms for powder charge, primer level, powder level, etc. I don’t even shoot enough to justify a case feeder. After a 100-300 rounds I am going to take a little break. Walk around a little bit. Sit down and load up a few more primer tubes, then get going again. It’s a great gizmo, but it’s only for high volume users.

Nice, but $200, that is a big hit for what it does, been using the FA VibraPrime for years, it was less than $50, and works like a champ, yeah it does not run while I am working the press, but for $150ish bucks less, that is a trade off I am willing to make.

The VibraPrime did not work for me. Primers would not go down the hole for some reason, I don't think I need to do anything special to make the product work so I returned it. I really wanted it to work. This machine may not be cheap, but it's cheaper than the one from Dillon and appears to have a better design and more flexibility. I'm willing to giving it a try.

Never had a problem with Federal primers large/small on my XL650. I did detonate a large primer trying to fit into a small primer .45 auto case on a Lee Loadmaster one time, rang my ears but that was it. Now I hate loading .45 auto because of the primer size variations.

Gavin must have received a special hand tuned prototype. My production model has tolerance problems with the plastic parts. It is very finicky. When it gets down to the last 20 primers my unit might get half of them passed to the tube but it could literally take half an hour. Fill it with 300 primers and start it. I can fill 2 tubes by hand, the old fashioned way before it will fill one tube. It has slots for the primers 360 degrees around the mechanism. They will only pass through the wheel on one small approximately 30 degree section that will actually pass primers. The one in this video works great. Mine passes between 0 to 3 primers per complete wheel revolution. It frequently “times out” and stops itself after making several revolutions without dropping a single primer. I must continually restart it. It is a huge time drain to get tubes loaded. My Dillon 1050 will prime cases faster than this device will fill tubes causing constant stoppages to my work flow. I really can’t recommend it.

Yes i would buy it. Now having another kind of vibrating platform for loading primers every 7 minutes. Problem is when my MARK VII drives at 1200 rounds per hour which is 20 rounds a minute, after 5 minutes Dillon’s primer tube is empty. So have to hurry between loader and primer, cause I only want to load primer tube for cartridge made. Don’t want to stock the wall on used primers.

Loading primers manually into tubess was the worst part of reloading. My solution was Hornady's "1911 auto primer." It is several times faster than that, 1/4 the cost, and can do either large or small primers. Total time to load 100 primers from primer package in hand to tube in press, about 15 seconds

I'm a gadget fan and like picking up reloading tools that help improve any process. This is for sure a cool tool, but the cost/benefit is just not there for me. My FA Vibra Prime was 1/10 the cost of this, is faster (~10 seconds to load a primer tube) and has a zero foot print on my bench (handle and tray fit on a shelf [on top of other stuff] or in a drawer). This is a tool for the reloader that has high end everything and cost is no issue (and bench space [and given the angle of the pickup tube, it must sit ~a FOOT over the edge of your bench...challenging to mount [as the video shows] or just rest over the edge when in use, careful not to knock it over or primers will be everywhere [not sure if the lid locks/snaps as the video shows it just sits atop the unit]). Now if they came out with a version that doesn't feed a tube, but can DIRECTLY feed your press' primer system (akin to bullet feeders or shell casing feeders), that would be a tool I'd be willing to pay this amount for. Maybe a future version. If they can feed a primer tube, they can figure out a way to design/mount this to a shell/bullet feeder arm to let gravity work and feed this into the press' primer tube instead of a pickup tube that you still have to manually transfer to the press' primer system.

1st you said you have to throw away a round with an upside down primer, not, just break it down and deprime, 2nd nice unit but would most definitely be far better if it press mounted and would handel large and small. But given its small only, still very nice but really should mount to press. And with its sensory sophistication they should have taken it that one step further to press mount and only drop on an empty or half empty tube. But thats me. I would still use it. Load a dozen tubes and have them in the ready in a bench rack with a saftey shield. For the price it's in line with other coalators(yea i know spelling) that are mounted on a dillions or other progressive presses, with the expetion of lee which works flawlessly once moded inexpensively. My only other and most biggest concern would be the break down and cleaning as primer dust can build up over time and that can be dangerous. This really should be addressed.

Did Saul discuss how the unit would mitigate static electricity build up? I know some plastics when rubbing together generate static electricity and that would be bad with 400 primers. That would make a big mess. That is a real concern for folks living in very dry climates. Secondly, I can see my clumsy self knocking off the Primer-Pro off the bench. I think he needs to some sort of mount to keep me from bumping it off.

Hi Gavin just watching the PrimerPro video Had a thought if you can find a permanent place on your bench for the Primer Pro why not drill a hole through the bench for the tube to sit in Regards Mark from the UK

Would have been better if they had made it where you could mount it to your press and it would work like a case feeder or bullet feeder. Might buy one so I can make a mount to do just that.

I don't see why it couldn't be modified. Mount it above the primer magazine, and use a shortened primer tube between the collator and the primer mag.

This is one of those options that the guy with everything will have to have. I have a F A and it works great for the money. It loads a tube is about 20 seconds. Thats fast enough for me.
