Ultra 126sv VS Echomap 93sv Livescope Comparison

Here's the video you need to watch! I have wanted to showcase this for a while and finally got my double mount rigged to do it. All settings are identical. This is a comparison showing how the livescope image is displayed on a 126 ultra vs an 93sv.

Might I add you should have expected this because the 106 & 126 have the same pixel count. Therefore you will get a better image on a 106 vs 126. The 126 is slightly stretched out compared to the 93 & 106. I would have gone with a 106 over the 126 if it’s just for Livescope. Bigger isn’t always better when it comes to Livescope.

I think it’s a contrast issue. Your jig pops more on the smaller unit because you have more contrast between the dark blue and white vs lighter matte blue and white. Other than that looks the same to me.

Is your black box location were you keep it all the time exposed to the elements or is it just there for the comparason?

I agree with you. I have both of units a 93sv and 126sv Ultra. The 93sv has a lot more clear picture and see father than the 126sv when comes to using the LiveScope. But, if you're using the down scan and side view, the 126sv win due to the Ultra HD. Only thing left is to test the new LVS 34 to the 126sv to see if it's better on the picture quality than the LVS 32.

Thank you so much. You just saved me $1,000 bucks. I was going to buy the Ultra but after your video, I am going to say with the Garmin Echomap UHD w/ GT56UHD-T Transducer. Its a much more vibrant and clear image and not to mention better value as well. :-)

Thank you for this video. I really don't want to spend a TON for livescope, and this may have been what I truly needed to see, to buy the 93sv instead. I am already used to a 7-inch Helix at the front, so a 9-inch screen is bigger, either way, and since my helix is being used for map and 2D/down/side-imaging, the Garmin I want to add will be used solely for livescope, and seeing these two, I'd much rather use the smaller screen and have a sharper, more defined picture. It's really like having a 32-inch TV at home and a 50-inch TV, but the 32-inch is displaying video at 1080p, and the 50-inch is showing 720p.

Link to that SICK! Double monitor mount? Rolling on a kayak and i need a place to mount the gls-10 livescope box…. All confusing! Do u use the gt56 with the 93 and the livescope lvs 32 together? Like on the ice fishing set up i didnt need the network cable but on the kayak i need it? Is the network cable to the 93 all u need? Do i need both red power jacks hooked up? (93 and black box gls-10) …thinking i need the network cable because im running both transducers? As u can see i am lost 😞….. thank you for the video.

Mount to the trolling motor so you can wave the scope back and forth and keep an eye on fish better.

Looks like the black box is doing the processing and putting out only 400x800 resolution to any display. 126sv seems to have a better processor where the 97 has a slight lag to it. Im sure Garmin will come up with a new black box to display better resolution and the 126 or 106 will be ready for it.

Excellent side by side. I think the LVS puts out a 400x800 resolution matching the 93sv. Anymore screen resolution wouldn’t help. Thanks for sharing

set your depth to manual and set the depth 3 feet deeper than the depth your in and that info will be out of the view of the fish.

The Ultra has 1280 x 800 screen resolution vs the 93 sv has 400 x 800. So...ya...the Ultra DOES have a better screen resolution contrary to what you are saying. Maybe the panoptix does not need high Res, you will mostly benifit of high resoltion on your down and side imaging.

They are exactly the same for livescope. The uhd only applies to sidevu and downvu. The screen is the same.

I mean, I have to disagree. When you went over the weeds, the tops of the weeds looked sharper with the 126 than the 93. Other than the more pale color scheme (which is odd to me because my 102sv is about as bright and vibrant as your 93sv), I'm not seeing where the 126 isn't sharper. If you want proof, look at the same data density. The 126 screen is 10.3" x 6.4", the 93sv is 7.8x4.8. You're shooting 80' out on both. Set the 126 to 100' and the 93 to 80'. Then you're looking at roughly the same 10' range per 1" screen width. The point of having more pixels means that you can fit more data on the screen and keep clarity, not that it will improve clarity. Also, try using it 40' down on a ledge. You'll find the screen resolution helps in other situations, but maybe not this one specific one.

i think we need like 1920x1080 resolution. great video!! but yeah. 800p comparison to 1280p....not much by eye especially when it's a bigger screen. I'd say pretty close in comparison. I would definitely wait to upgrade to 1920p vs. 93sv 800p.

They are exactly the same and I had a dedicated 100ah lithium with a master switch running to a separate fuse panel, 12ga wires run from the fuse panel to each device on the opposite side from the trolling motor. Trust me, it's correct.

I just tested your theory same results. Here is a side note my 126 is on #8 wire and the 93sv is on #10 pulling the same length from the same source and I have a .4voltage drop on the 93 the bigger wire matters

I just used my Garmin 1222 for the first time a couple of days ago, and when I get on that same color palette that you are on the blue background like the 2D sonar look, I get so much fuzziness in the screen and I cannot get it out. Every time I go to a different color palette it seems like I have to readjust the settings on it.

No it is not, the 106 and 126 have the exact same pixel count. So you will get a lot sharper image on the 106. He should’ve compared the 93SV to a 106 and not a 126.

holy cow i'm glad I watched this, my 93sv went flying off the boat today and i have a 126 in my cart thinking i wanted bigger. I was pretty happy with the 93, i think i'm just going to get another. SIDE NOTE: STRAP any 93sv DOWN LIKE YOU HAVE IN YOUR VIDEO (what strap is that btw?) because they will randomly fly out, this is the second time its happened in normal chop, except this time it went over the side of the boat :(

In my opinion I have not noticed a difference in color vibrancy between my 126 and my friends 93 true comparison would be different color pallets and distance and depths and settings along with structures understandable it was meant to be a short video, but my mind clicks on scientific and analytical thoughts, too many variables to agree with your conclusion

Wow. On paper the Ultra should be so much better. I suppose the lower resolution could create higher contrast or maybe that the processor has to work harder for the higher resolution. Do you know if the same holds true for things that need higher resolution (such as down/side imaging) or for static pics like traditional sonar?

I have a 126 my settings are tvg/off, noise reject /low, color gain-/96-100, gain /46-52 jig is more visible and this removes visible ghost tree, however the ghost tree is still there and is invisible/ meaning jig and fish disappear inside ghost tree. but in all ghost tree is considerably smaller area of effect

Basically the same. Unsurprising as the LS is far from being limited in resolution by the screen.

Be honest, sharper image is not bigger image. Don't matter how crisp it is if it is too small you can't see it.

The 93uhd and the 93sv have the exact same screen. The only differnce is the support for uhd sidevu, not the screen. The ultra has a uhd 1280 x 800 pixels screen, while the 93sv has a 400 x 800 pixels screen.

Apples to oranges. The lcd's of each monitor are different. Follow up with an optimized 126 setting and match the 93 and you will have a different story to tell.

Pixels are the same. So the bigger screen will not be as detailed. I had a 9” tv for camping. It had the best pic I ever saw

There is no reason why the Ultra should not be better. Bigger screen and more pixels (and newer) but it is a step back for LS. I have seen both beside each other running LS and would not part with my 95Plus (Australia's version of the 93plus it seems) for LS. Cheers

@@818Outdoors , I wonder if taking the 1280 x 800 resolution on a 12"will not be as good as on a 10" or 9" screen since they will be more dense. Also, the new 943xsv can run the GT56 transducer, has 1280x720 resolution, and also is compatible with livescope...all at $1,399 (though it won't play nice on a network with echomap or ultra, and you have to buy the transducer). I hope Garmin gives some pandemic love over Black Friday on some livescope compatible senior units.
