Great question! Yes, to record when and for how long the bar hits the ground. Most teams don't have access to this ultra slow view we provide. You see so much more here than with the naked eye or a std cellphone camera.

No Nitrogen Katze, but an inner tube at around 60psi holding the tire to the rim. Or a BeadLock outer ring sandwiching the bead.

the tire is malleable like that to increase grip right? like if it was too hard the tire would skid a lot, losing power. it is?

They reduce the pressure inside the tire to increase the contact surface area between the tyres and the road

GODDAMN this is SO fucking awesome!!! It's a damned shame tho that the tires are such an environmental problem. Not to mention the internal combustion without filters. Racing, unfortunately, MUST CHANGE!! Imagine top-fuel IC cars using hydrogen. That's the direction to go here. You can KEEP the engine sounds, which are totally fuckin awesome. Electric has it's own sound which I think is cool enuf, but I also love the IC sound. And it CAN stay. But the fuel source has to be changed. And the tire compounds. Seriously. What those are made of these days is very non-ecologically-friendly. Which matters. Don't mock. Accept, and fix it.
