I don't know what earl guyton is rambling on about, but the only allowance you'll have to consider is the oil sitting in the lines of the cooler and the cooler itself will mean a little less in the sump. Thetefore if you fill with the required 0.9 ltre, the dipstick may show a lower level. It has nothing to do with pressure. I checked oil pressure b4 and after fitting ultracool. Only difference, lower temp. It's a good product.

Dazza Boof If you want a good laugh go watch his video about Harley Twin Cam engine design. He once drove a forklift in a warehouse so therefore he's a machinist and an engineer too.

I installed this today and I have a leak. It looks at its from the oil filter as it stays above the ridge and then comes down by #4 bolt fastener. Tightened filter up. Then a little more. Then real tight. Still leaking.

IS THE OIL COOLER GOING TO CHANGE THE OIL PRESSURE ? IS IT GOING TO CHANGE THE FLOW OF THE OIL PUMP ?

I see articles on(air vs oil vs water)for the best cooling depending on weather it’s a high revving engine,like a 4-cylinder sport bike or a twin ala HD.I just wonder where my 87-GSX-R/1100(Yes still have it)Would fit into the equation,with that unique(air/oil cooling system)Since the oil cooler is almost as big as a radiator on a LC-bike.

Will Tran, I wired a simple on/off toggle switch. The leads connecting to the thermostat were joined together. This way, I can activate the twin fans whenever I chose. I have a pressure guage, when it drops, I turn the fans on myself. I hid the switch in behind the ignition coils.

I really don't know if you are reading this ; but the issue of mitigating high heat in air-cooled motors ; like the 103 and Mil-8 motors ; already been long resolved by using ceramic coating on tops of pistons, inside the heads, and inside exhaust header. All this water / oil head coolings for 103 , 107, 114 CI motors maybe not required ; short of just running a standard oil cooler for the entire motor. Just another example this motor company using bad engineering to solve simple problems.....

@@BBD40 ahm........the concept may work. but the BCM computer in a Harley will detect the extra current load from the fan, and shut the engine down.....Don't take my word for it.... Just ask Doc "service tech" Harley at Low Country, and he will tell you all about it.....

Its same as an oil cooler on a pickup with tow package and is nothing new. But people, remember the chain is only as strong as the lock, go figure that unless you double the out put of your oil pump you are going to slow your oil flow down a great bit. Your oil flow will be much slower and the longevity reality on any combustion engine is for the same oil not to stay in the same place for very long. But then if you double the pressure of your oil pump also realize O rings in the cam cover assembly are going to leak being they are not designed for anything other than the standard oil pressure. Now if HD builds this assembly with this in mind it will work!! BUT, if you have a standard shovel or evo or cvo DONT install this. These abortion nightmares have happened on many vehicles in the past in where two engineers do not communicate with the other. Its like making plans with your man friend and not getting his wives approval
