You, Me, and the other Guy who replied to you too, we all want a toy like this! I live in New York City, so there will definitely be some issues concerning the allowable fly zones, however, I'm less concerned about that since i can have those parameters figured out, but as of this moment, i only got around $41k available, so there has to be some more waiting game put into this mission of acquiring one of these toys lmao!! And I'ma surprise my old friend with it by landing it right in his backyard lol, without even letting him know it's me.. 😆😆

Cogged belts are used in NHRA drag racing. These machines are pushing north of 12,000 HP, 13,000 torques. The belts are used to run the super charger- which by itself takes 800-900 HP to turn to produce the boost wanted. If they can handle that amount of HP they can handle the 100 HP or so here I would think.

I couldn't give up my EAB Light Sport airplane to have one of these but I sure would like to add the turbine engine model to my 'fleet". Especially if I owned and lived on acreage in a rural area, this would so totally Rock!

How well does this airframe work at high DA (density altitude)? Our airfield is at 5,666ft on a warmer day we can be at 9k DA, would it's performance allow that? I am Commercial Rotor pilot, it'd be awesome to just go enjoy flying - beyond work.

I wonder if cutting away sections of the tail boom's composite body would lower the weight enough to allow for doors to be added on the XEL, and still be Part 103 compliant. There should be enough composite material left in the tail boom for structural rigidity.

@arcanondrum65432 жыл бұрын
Yup. The turd killed a bird. I've flown lots since I was a kid. I learned that if something looks like it isn't moving in your windscreen, it means that you're on a collision course with it. I DON'T like people that continually buzz areas of habitat. Flying is already fun and it is a quick means of transportation. Be RESPECTFUL of all living things above and below.

For a real helicopter it is super affordable, I've found used ones in great shape from 20k to 33k. It's cheaper than buying a new suv. I'm 1.7 years from getting one in savings.

You don’t in the us, for any aircraft that has less than 65 mph capacity, 248 lbs I believe and something else but yes there’s legitimate aircraft that do not require a pilots license

How is $42,000 affordable? Very nice aircraft that I would love to build and fly but out of most persons budget.
They used to be in the $20k's a kit for the piston model last few years they started gouging their customers same thing with Kitfox, and others. Problem is backlog of customers allowing these small number of kit builders to charge whatever they want. I get it supply and demand maybe with the uptick in sales others will start selling kits. These builders after years of building their business's can finely make some real money. This is the problem with most aviation kit builds used to be the alternative to certified which was lower cost for average guy no longer the case. Now to get into the air in the 20k range down to ultralights IMO nothing should cost 42k with a 2 stroke piston engine.
@deanmiles35053 жыл бұрын
It's the same thing with hanger rental. It is getting so only the wealthy will be able to have an aircraft. The northeast is over $339 a month for a small hanger. Some are the open style. They also prevent you from sharing the space. It's ridiculous... Take care, Be safe.

You can go full on Tucker Gott absolutely!
@mouthbreather280 Жыл бұрын
It’s affordable for being a helicopter. If this is out of your price range then a fully featured full size helicopter is way out of your budget because those can be well north of 100k.
