If your not taking gulliman as a variant to this list, I HIGHLY recomend merging the two jump intercessors squads into one and attaching a jump pack chaplain, whoch adds even more mortal wound output, AND a SUPER STRONG flat +1 to wound in melee.

I’d even consider company heroes. They more than pull their weight with a captain leading them.

I think I would personally swap guilliman for calgar and a 6 man bladeguard for 5 points more rounding the list to 1995

This is a great start for someone looking to build a Space Marine army! 1120pts before leaders or vehicles (minus transports) allows for modularity while still keeping the demi-company flex.

Forgive the dumb question, but what software do you use to make your lists? This channel is fast becoming my go-to channel for list ideas.

Not a dumb question at all. The display used in the video is simply a UI wrapper for making the list display more visually interesting. For list building I've generally used Battlescribe in the past, but recently I've been using Newrecruit. Which I really have been enjoying. But for the record, I have not tested it on mobile.

How do you only have 20k subscribers? This is one of my favorite Warhammer 40k channels. You certainly don't get as much appreciation as you should. You should be up there with Majorkill and the other entertaining 40k channels.

Yes. Buuuuuut the apothecary can be attached to its valid units even if a Captain, CM, or Lt. has been attached.

Excellent question. Well I think it's wise for combat patrol to serve as a sample of 40ks core gameplay experience. So I wouldn't want to change any mechanics in combat patrol without changing mechanics of 40k.😅 Though, I suppose it would be good to just have GW make more combat patrol rule packs, especially now that there a more detachments. Such as a Phobos or Gavis or brain bug combat patrol detachment.

I am building thematic White Scars, and I would like your feed back Obviously its a Stormlance Task force. 2 Jump Captians, one the warlord, both with chainswords heavy bolt pistols, no enhancements. Chaplain on a bike with Fury of the Storm 4 groups of 5 assault intercessors, Sargents have Power fists, and plasma pistols 2 groups of 10 Jump pack marines 4 individual ATVs with Multi-Meltas 3 Outrider bike squads, 2 of those squads have 2 more ATVs with the Onslaught Cannons and a Storm Speeder Hammerstrike. that is a perfect 2000 points, and I think, because of all the speed, is very flavorful, and faithful to the white scars.

I swapped the second jump captain for a jump chaplain! And gave the captain the enhancement “portents of wisdom” for assault rerolls. I also replaced fury of the storm on the bike chaplain, for feinting withdrawal for that fall back, shoot, and charge.

Sorry for the late response to this one. I'm admittedly not as good on the content management as I should be.😅 I quite like your list. I am not planning to (at least currently) to lean into jump pack on the scars list, but I feel what you're putting down here. I did the same with the feinting withdrawal on the bike chap as i think it pairs really well with his litany.

Oh you definitely could. I would take the units in this box as a base, swap the impulsors for razorbacks. Add in a few predator tanks, and Bobby G's your uncle.

Say what you want about 8th and 9th combat doctrines in AOM they allowed us to choose what doc we started in ontop of having our old chapter rules much more engaging than just pointing at your opponents most annoying unit and and savoring in those sweet sweet hard to hit bs3+ checks....

A “thematic demi company” certainly should t contain a primarch. Furthermore, where is your librarian or chaplain? Command squad? Etc. Aside from being 3/1/1 troops/fast/heavy, this list is barely thematic. Thats ridiculous.

Agreed that the Primarch shouldn’t be part of the list but librarians and chaplains aren’t tied to companies, either. They’re assigned as needed. And the point was to emulate the old demi company box while retailing thematic elements of X chapter.

@@CMTechnica the old Demi company detachment (as per the dark angels 8th codex) included a lieutenant and a chaplain OR librarian, because each company has one of each. That’s where I got that from.
