I get ask lots of times what do I use my ultrasonic cleaner for really easy thing to say is just for cleaning things but they do work and they work fantastic all depends what you are cleaning to what cleaning fluid you need but as you can see from this video it will rip off the carbon build-up from the EGR valve and EGR cooler these will do a multiple of things I've cleaned injectors turbos basically anything you can fit into it it will clean
Ultrasonic cleaning is a process that uses ultrasound (usually from 20-400 kHz) and an appropriate cleaning solvent (sometimes ordinary tap water) to clean items. The ultrasound can be used with just water, but use of a solvent appropriate for the item to be cleaned and the type of soiling present enhances the effect. Cleaning normally lasts between three and six minutes, but can also exceed 20 minutes, depending on the object to be cleaned.[1]
Ultrasonic cleaners are used to clean many different types of objects, including jewelry, lenses and other optical parts, watches, dental and surgical instruments, tools, coins, fountain pens, golf clubs, fishing reels, window blinds, firearms, car fuel injectors, musical instruments, gramophone records, industrial parts and electronic equipment. They are used in many jewelry workshops, watchmakers' establishments, and electronic repair workshops
Ultrasonic cleaning uses cavitation bubbles induced by high frequency pressure (sound) waves to agitate a liquid. The agitation produces high forces on contaminants adhering to substrates like metals, plastics, glass, rubber, and ceramics. This action also penetrates blind holes, cracks, and recesses. The intention is to thoroughly remove all traces of contamination tightly adhering or embedded onto solid surfaces. Water or solvents can be used, depending on the type of contamination and the workpiece. Contaminants can include dust, dirt, oil, pigments, rust, grease, algae, fungus, bacteria, lime scale, polishing compounds, flux agents, fingerprints, soot wax and mold release agents, biological soil like blood, and so on. Ultrasonic cleaning can be used for a wide range of workpiece shapes, sizes and materials, and may not require the part to be disassembled prior to cleaning.[5]
Objects must not be allowed to rest on the bottom of the device during the cleaning process, because that will prevent cavitation from taking place on the part of the object not in contact with solvent

Try 25grms of citric acid in the water it is very good on carbon and it is cheap. You can also use it to descale kettles, shower heads or make lemonade, sour fizzy sweets the list goes on.

A pressure water wash before putting them into the machine will take less time and better clean as carbon layers come off before the ultrasonic waves touch metal.

bodgit and leggit garage In other words, you are using SeaClean2, a proprietary ultrasonic cleaning fluid available from Amazon UK for £8.83 (delivered) for 500 ml of concentrate, if you live on that side of the Atlantic. Would an industrial detergent/degreaser and heated water work just as well in the sonic cleaner for those of us in the USA and elsewhere who are too cheap to buy SeaClean2?

@bodgitandleggitgarage 6 жыл бұрын
des allen hi mate I made a special tool to get underneath when it's on the lift it is awkward once I've removed it I always replace it with a 10 mm normal bolts this means a lot easier to get on and off

@desallen8110 6 жыл бұрын
bodgit and leggit garage thanks for the reply, I was hoping to do the same with the bolt idea but haven't yet succeeded getting the Allen bolt out yet. I will see if I can get in from underneath. Thanks. P.S. any chance of a video on this? I know from what I've read that not only me is struggling. The KZbin vids I've seen tend to skip that bit :)

Hi des, i'm no mechanic but did mine, i cut the short end of a spare allen key down till it was stubby and it just about went in, what cost most of my time was trying to work out either the size or if it was a torx bolt, so in the end i pushed some blue tack in it for an in-print, ps I've since found out you can get some nice little stubby double ball end allen keys offline.... Andy
@desallen8110
@desallen8110 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that Andy dont suppose you have a link per chance? life would be so much easier if we had a ramp :) by the way who the hell thought to put an allen bolt there? thats nearly as bad as putting the fuel filter at the back.......
@bodgitandleggitgarage
@bodgitandleggitgarage 6 жыл бұрын
Some muppet thought it'd be a good idea cannot understand why you can use that idea just be careful make sure you are fully on with the allen key you only have one chance you can also very gently move the EGR valve left and right this will also loosen it a little bit and make it easier for you to use the allen key

i watched a loot of people using ultrasound cleaners but seem no one actually read the instructions. For car parts as example the minimum time of cleaning is 2h wich means that for a deep clean is around 6 h. As about the liquid to be used depends on what u clean in some cleaning cycle need to be used 2 cycle one with one product and one with diferent product. In the worst scenarios between one cycle and the second need to be dry in owen not to hot but enaf to get it dry deep .
