At 8:55 when you said “this is too cool!”, I was thinking the exact same thing. So happy for you and your new running environment. And I LOVE the kindness of the people you met on the trail. What a great start to the day. 😊

Yeah man I’m loving it! Everyone on the trail was super nice and moved out of the way as I was bombing down.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful! I need to run Barr Trail. So pretty! In fact, I had plotted out a 22 mile course that summits Pikes Peak. Would love to do that run one of these days (after the snow melts).

Lets do it! I'm down lol. I will try my best to summit PP before winter is over

Love seeing this from your point of view. I don't even have to go outside... I can just sit here at my computer a while longer this morning... It's really hard to take it easy on that thing huh? Seems you're set to make the most of your new home here; great running!
@UltraTrailSteven2 жыл бұрын
Haha drink an extra cup of coffee! I was moving slow with intention at the start of the incline, but eventually the continuous steep climbing gets really hard no matter how slow you go lol. Although I am out of climbing shape, so I need to get back to it! Thanks!

I don’t know which part was more amazing -the climb up or the run at the top, descent! Thanks for sharing, Steven. Looking forward to your thoughts on the Challenger 7’s.. I was on similarly snowy trails yesterday with the 6’s and it was dicey!
@UltraTrailSteven2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I love the ATR 7’s! They did great in the snow. Though it was a dry/crunchy snow.
@TrailSage2 жыл бұрын
Incredible! Is there a story behind the steps? The view of Pikes Peak was beautiful, are you planning on doing that race? Thank god for the natural spring at the bottom, lol.

"The Manitou Incline was originally built as a cable car to carry materials to build pipelines on Pikes Peak - America's Mountain. After the pipelines were finished, it was turned into a tourist attraction to bring guests to the top of the foothills for a spectacular view of Colorado Springs and the eastern plains." for more, see www.visitcos.com/things-to-do/outdoors/manitou-incline/history/ I would love to do the Pikes Peak Marathon! Just gotta see if I can get in.

I moved to denver in 2019 and have ran most of the trails on the front range here and in the springs. The barr trail is nice. Barr trail out and back is about 13 miles and a good long run. If you ever want some company on the run I do my long runs on Saturday morning around that area. Only 6ft5 runner you’ll see on the trail all day haha
@UltraTrailSteven Жыл бұрын
Yeah I have lots to explore here! I definitely plan on doing the full Barr trail ascent and descent up Pikes Peak, but need to continue my altitude adaptation. I am 6'3" so you will see another tall runner out there! ha
