@ilikespaghetti44583 ай бұрын
Another huge problem nowadays is also: gay characters and good casts don't equal bad either. Intelligent story telling and careful world building can very much include these aspects but many do not have the media literacy or objective lens to understand that
@bendingdemon6483Ай бұрын
"A gay character does NOT equal good" made me immediately want a gay villain (because opposite of good is bad and just about every gay person in movies and shows are good guys so NOT GOOD would be bad guy). So clearly evil and full of malice but then their partner is the exact opposite, still evil and with malice of course, but in a cheerful way. They're like Pinky and Brain but without the Pinky person foiling every plan. One is pure evil and shows it through being a ruthless monster, the other is just as evil but shows it with joy in every note and movement like "We're gonna take over the WOOOORLD YIPPIEEEE :D". Imagine Honey Lemon from Big Hero Six but if she was a villain instead of a hero.

I'm actually learning how to write novels with help from ChatGPT. I have a little brother with moderate to severe autism who's as in love with storytelling as the rest of my family. My goal is to build a sort of semi-automated process to help him bring his ideas to life despite his challenges in communication. Probably my favorite thing I've discovered about ChatGPT as a writing aid is its ability to spur chain reactions. For example, I'm currently writing a near-future sci-fi that starts with the destruction of planet Earth. The story follows astrophysicist Flora Bolton as she struggles with the loss of her home and everything she knows whilst working with her alien rescuers to take down the evil AI that destroyed Earth. Along the way, she meets two other human survivors that each symbolize other coping strategies. Erin Norman symbolized meeting your past trauma with hope, for example, so I didn't plan on him having that many flaws (besides only being human). But I asked ChatGPT for ideas for his misbelief about the world, and it gave me the belief that hope was all it took to create positive change in the world. I loved that idea because it allowed me to write a scene where both characters are wrong, but both also have good points. It inspired me to give them a deeper connection so the characters have more opportunities to play off each other as the trilogy goes on and I'm really excited to see where it goes. Sorry Ryan, my point was you're absolutely right. It might just be me from the outside looking in, but I don't think the critics of AI creativity are afraid of art becoming less human, not necessarily. What they're afraid of, and rightfully so, is that art will get less emotional. They're afraid it'll lose its luster because humans aren't there to direct its emotional impact. The first thing I have to say about that is that, if the humans want their art to be good, they'll be there to give it emotional impact regardless of how much AI helps them and in what way. Trust me, I've seen plenty of AI trying to be creative to tell you that it won't be able to do it for a long time, maybe never. The second thing is, entirely organic art has and will continue to be bad. Bad artists have existed just as long as good ones, and I don't think any advancement in technology is going to change that.

People see something bad and immediately assume it was AI. Like mate, that's a SERIOUS insult for a writer. AI writing is unoriginal, soulless, generic with characters having no character development, nor any consistent plot at all. I experimented with it and asked it for a sci-fi story. Not only did it give the most generic, boring result ever, it also didn't give the character ANY personality. So stop blindly assuming AI was used in something you didn't like, because I can assure you, AI does so much worse.

THIS. Let me give you an example just to prove how right you are: The game Undertale is a very successful game that is loved by pretty much everyone who plays it. And it, *Gasp* has a lesbian couple in it. Yet I have never seen a single person complain about it, or the game itself. Why? Because it's a well-written game with amazing characters and a great world. (Also, they had great chemistry!) Now will everyone support this couple? No, and that's ok! But it doesn't change the fact that it's a great game!! Likewise, having the "Totally first gay couple ever, nobody has ever been as innovative as us, so DON'T YOU DARE POINT OUT ANY OTHER GAY COUPLES!" Doesn't change the fact that it's a bad movie. It doesn't matter if it's "Woke"! It matters how good the writing is!

It is important to note the writers strike was not about stopping AI, the writers were fine using it to do their jobs. They just objected to being removed as useless middle men in the process. AI is a fine tool imo, but it should always be refined and touched up by human hands afterwards. Be it a script, a game or a picture tge AI rough draft is usually trash with a hint of a good idea.

What sucks is that the homosexual inclusion in the story doesn't feel earned. It feels like a worm on a hook because the hook itself is clearly unappealing. It is raw pandering in case nothing else works, and what terrible is that it shows that this dirty trick is working. The few good reviews or audiences that liked the movie overly praise the LGBTQ+ involvement, but little else. Kind of like how that Buzz Lightyear movie did the same thing; only good things I heard were "it's alright" to "LGBTQ+ approved". You cannot, and should not, reward pandering because it convinces the studio to keep doing it without trying for anything else. Don't give me what's trending or popular, make me like the characters.

Your explination of how AI can be good is basically explaining why you say ai is bad immediately after. Saying how ai can examine old scripts and stick to a formula that works, then going on about how it it is rehashing old ideas. You said the same thing twice but only with one sentence being positive in tone and the follow up being negative. AI can't be creative and unique, it can only look at what existed and remake that.

10:27 What does everybody have against nuclear energy? I just don't understand. Did they like, sleep on physics class? I know that not everyone likes physics but like, bro this is common knowledge. So to recap your missed classes: nuclear fission is an exothermic reaction. Heat from that reaction is used to boil water and generate steam. The steam then travels to a turbine. Rotation of the turbine generates energy. The "smoke" coming out of the coolant towers is water vapor. Did like the people at Disney not learned about the matter they are putting into a movie? And i ain't only talking about Disney, i am talking about all antinuclear protestants, or however they liked to be called. #nuclearenergyiscleanenergy

I cannot agree with your argument that the giant turtle is plagiarism. I was using that as a world in my own drawings long before I'd heard the name Terry Pratchett as first off and most importantly it is in reference to ancient greek myth and philosophy and secondly in not a rare thing to see in fiction as a whole. Aladdin and the King of Thieves anyone? Avatar: The Last Air Bender? There were even large sea turtles in real life! Nowhere near the scale of one holding an entire world, continent, or even city on its back, but certainly large enough to give anyone who found its remains some interesting ideas.

You want adventure in the outside world with your son? Nope,you are a horrible father because your son quits and you didn't follow him. Follow your dream is not allowed for him and must feel guilty about everything. Doesn't matter if the town built him a statue,he must suffer. That's the problem with this movie for me not the filler gay romance.
