Black churches should learn from the gurdwara, Sikh people around the world they open their temples from 6 in the morning, feeding people doesn't matter if you are Sikh or not, people helping each other to open businesses, as I use UK for reference, you won't see sane Indian homeless.. very good culture people should look at it the way they run their communities

now td jakes does have a prison ministry , ged program, they run shelters, they wirk with inmates to get themselves prepared for the world. they have a food and clothing for those in need , my brother in law and cuzin were in prison in texas, this facts, the potter house does do for the community

I agree with tithing. However, tithing isn't limited to the church. You can tithe to organizations you feel passionate about. Also, you can donate your time to volunteer. Tithing is important, but not exclusive just to the church
