This is the "Co2 Summer" series in which I will feature a Co2 pistol or rifle every other week during the summer. This will be in addition to my bi-monthly reviews. Summer is the ultimate time to use Co2 airguns because of the favorable warm climate. This week we are featuring the Umarex Fusion 2. This is a .177 caliber Co2 powered pellet rifle. We will show you the performance and let you decide.

Having owned the fusion 2 for a little over six months I have to say your review was spot on with every aspect of the rifle and that I picked up more tips and tricks from your vid then all the other videos on the Internet combined. I’ve been running mine with a single 12 g and it’s been working like a charm with no change in velocity. I still can’t get over how quiet this rifle is.

I bought my son who is 9 this for his birthday and he loves it. It’s so accurate and so quiet we both have a blast with it in the backyard so much that I ordered myself one and it is perfect for him to work on his shooting form for when we do go squirrel hunting with his .22. So I would say this pellet gun is fun for all ages because I enjoy it just as much as he does

My son bought one. Loved it. So I bought one. Love it. We both use one used cartridge and one new because we both do bird pesting. Starlings and house sparrows. Up to about 15 yds. When I do it I use one full mag and load 7 into the next mag. Once these are both empty I change the co2. This gun is a laser. I have done plinking with it too up to 30 yds. Got about 25 usable shots from one cartridge. Still so accurate and fun. Glad you reviewed this one. Great review as usual. Thanks and keep them coming.

An awesome review! Thank you JC! Watched once a review of this rifle by Airgun Web. Never seen it before that. But I fell for it immediately. It is as a bolt-action target PCP rifle - but instead co2 powered. Dual 12g or single 88g co2. Sweet!! And the price ain't high. Would love to own one of these.

Look forward to watching video, I have the Canadian version, manufacturer’s claim is 480 fps with lead. So far I’m loving it, I’ve used Daisy hollow points, Gamo tomahawks, crosman premier piranha and my favourites so far are x-hunt from stoeger. Ive put maybe 300 rounds through it so far and it’s showing to be very accurate, very quiet. I would confidently go after rabbit or squirrel with it, I do want to get a better scope. The two 12g CO2 fits my Airjavelin also so that’s a nice bonus. Fun little gun

Been looking to get that quiet suburban backyard plinker, and I believe this is it. Been watching 4 other vids on this gun before I got to your vid, all I have to say, yours was most knowledgeable. I love mine! Just like you found out, the thing is very accurate, super quiet, and will snuff a rat with the CPHP's. Put a reflex red dot on mine and it's great in ambient city low light conditions (then again I shoot at between 20 and 35 feet at the most). A Laser Products tactical light, mounted in 1" scope rings (the ones that came with the scope), using a remote momentary contact switch end cap is helpful as well; mine has the flip off red filter. Great CO2 rifle at an incredible price point. Honestly, I was shocked how well the thing groups for the money spent. Spot on review JC, keep up the great work!

Mine arrived with a CO2 tube not fully threaded and with some play. Tried to tighten using finger pressure but ended up having to remove it to lube the threads. Still had to use wrench pressure to fully thread. When I removed the tube, a small plastic rod and spring fell out. I have only been able to pierce one of two cartridges but will try the dime. Using one CO2 canister, I start to see loss of elevation indicting pressure decrease after about 2 magazines, 18 pellets. I have a lot of rifles and know how to mount and site in a scope. When I mounted the scope, I ran out of elevation capacity on the dial so replaced it with another I had in storage. But using a red dot at about 50 feet, I get good accuracy. Maybe my rifle was constructed on a Friday afternoon before a holiday but I would think QC would notice a loose CO2 tube with about 1/3 of an inch of threads exposed. Good video BTW.

I’ve had a fusion 2 for a month now, and I just watched your Xisico sentry pcp rifle reviews yesterday. Looking closely at the Xisico magazine, they look exactly like the fusion 2 magazines with all the text removed. Same shape, same ridges, same indent in the back, same capacity for 177, etc, so I bet they are interchangeable. I ordered a sentry, so I’ll know for sure soon. With the extra fusion 2 mags I bought and the 3 mags the sentry comes with, I’d almost have enough for an entire pcp fill.

My young daughter has shown interest in learning about my hobby of shooting ELR, so I thought this air gun would be a good step 1. I will mount it on a heavy camera desktop tripod with a Vortex Vanquish 4-12. Start off with just a seated bench position. The silencer on it is a great idea for kids; one less fear of the noise being scary. An adjustable length stock and adjustable comb would be ideal, but it is a great deal for the money. I wish one of the air rifle companies would team up with someone like MDT and use a chassis - the adjustments offer much better ergonomics.

Dude, I LOVE "CO2 Summer"! I live in Iowa so summer is the only time to shoot CO2 guns outside. Well, a bit of spring and fall work, but summer is best. I've also been heavily into CO2 recently. I've customized a couple 2240s, and now I'm looking for a rifle. I have a QB78 in .177, but as they say, I lost the Chinese barrel lottery on that one. Even after cleaning the barrel, the groups are just awful. Superdomes are best and I only get about .5 at 10 yards, so even those suck. Glad I only paid like $63 for that one! Been looking at either a Sharidan 2260, the Flying Dragon rifle you reviewed in 2019, and now I'm considering the Fision 2. Can't remember if you reviewed the 2260 or not? Anyway, keep up the great work. Hope the family is going well. 🇺🇲❤

@AirgunDetectives 3 жыл бұрын
I have a QB78 I recently picked up and it's extremely accurate. I will review that this summer. I would exchange yours because that's not the norm. You can also do the spring trick on that trigger and it's even easier. One screw behind the trigger, spring comes out, drop another in. Seriously, exchange that rifle as defective. Mike's at Flying Dragon are awesome and he'll set it up for more power or more shots. Call him and tell him I sent you. He'll take care of you 👍😉

Great thorough review as always! I'm glad some one brought up the paintball conversion! Excellent candidate for a PCP conversion. Next year Umarex will probably put out a very similar looking PCP rifle for under $300, since the Gauntlet 2 is $399 now? What are your thoughts, feasible?
@AirgunDetectives
@AirgunDetectives 3 жыл бұрын
How are you Buddy? The Co2 rifles are not the greatest when converted to high pressure PCP. The valves are not setup properly for the 3000 psi. A perfect example is the Sig Virtus. They basically converted the Co2 frame into a PCP. So the accuracy suffers because of the inconsistent release of air. They are using the Co2 valve system. The Fusion 2 is priced $100-$130. So they'll probably keep it as is. But for the $ this is a fun little rifle for the whole family. 👍😉

@@AirgunDetectives Doing well JC! Hope you are too! Thanks for the info! Didn't know the valve system was significantly different from Co2 to HPA! Hey JC, GREAT VIDEO, Again!!! I'm still stuck over here in Malaysia due to Covid19 Lockdowns. So I find myself watching and rewatching a ton of your videos and envying all the airgunners out there pesting, ratting, and small game hunting with their kids. Too bad this doesn't come in .22 it would be awesome if it could generate 650-700 fps with a .22 on CO2!!! Anyway, do you know if there is any way to boost the power by modifying the valve or changing it? I heard that it can be done with pcps so theoretically it should be able to be done with co2s. Thanks. Stay Safe, Be Well, God Bless.

JC said it perfectly. If you don’t know how to handle certain situations when you take apart a Rifle don’t do it. Use me as an example. Removing the stock seems simple enough. However a tiny Threaded cylinder falls out right above the trigger. The screw that holds the stock to the receiver or whatever you wanna call it lines up with this threaded cylinder. It wasn’t perfectly lined up when I put it back in. Now my gun is useless. Listen to JC when he warns you. I have worked on guns before but that stupid cylinder was impossible to lineup and it was stripped now my gun is completely useless I just got it yesterday. You’re better off not disassembling it leave it the way it is. Don’t be an idiot like I was. Even if you think and you have work done gun assemblies before this one is very easy to destroy because of that stupid stock screw.

I tried every pellet I have, and H&N Barracuda hunter extreme. They still wouldn’t hit pellet on pellet. One other thing I did not like is when you dump out your empty Co2 canister the front one comes out easy, but the back canister always stuck, and I got about 30 shots before they started dropping. That’s with 2 canisters. I may love it once I get more used to it.

Wow I got it and I love it I'm from the Netherlands quess what the rife costs over here... Yeah 250 euros now compared to that to the dollar and it makes it ridiculous expensive, I mean you can buy a hatsan vortex 6.35 mm for the money.. I don't understand why that is but the co2s are expensive over here.. Got pcps, breakbarrels you name it but this is one expensive country for air rifles and a wierd law.. You can have any caliber it doesn't matter, semi auto, fully no problem at all as long as the rifle doesn't look to real.. I shoot real guns to but the laws about them are very complicated to long to explain. So I stik mostly to air.. But why Co2 is more expensive than pcp or breakbarrels is a mistery to me... The Dutch are a strange lot I quess.. Thank for the video I learned some new things..

I finally got the cylinder out but it will not go back in now. Why do they sell guns that don't work without an expert? Any idea where I could sell this rifle (Umarex Fusion 2 Co2 Air Rifle) ? Used one time a few years ago.

So I have a brand new fusion 2 , right out of the box the inboard co2 won't puncture , only the front one will. I have had the gun for my son less than 2 days and umarex wants me to mail it to them... any tips or things I can do besides sending it to them for weeks?

I tried the dime trick it didn't help

If the dime trick doesn't work, it might be the piercing mechanism on the south side. You may have to exchange it with the retailer or manufacturer.

if you were going to purchase a co2 air rifle, would you buy the Beeman QB78 or Umarex Fusion 2, or something else?
@AirgunDetectives
@AirgunDetectives 2 жыл бұрын
They are similar in velocity. The build on the Beeman may have a slight edge. However, the Fusion 2 is really quiet and has a magazine. I would probably lean towards the Fusion if I had to pick one.👍

My 9 shot cylinder will not come out of the rifle any idea what to do?

It sounds like you have a pellet jammed between the breech and the magazine. You will need to push the pellet back into the magazine with a long cleaning rod. Insert in the barrel and tap a few times until you can free up the magazine.

I've tried four times to get a 88grm CO2 in mine. However it blows the gas out before I can get it to lock down. That was my only disappointment with this product.

I have CO2 airgun shoulder stock .22 and it seems to show slowly shoot from left to right As a cartridge Depletes the CO2..... The difference is about 1⁄4" so when I 1st change the bottle it's shooting 1⁄4" to the left before it starts to drifting to the right slowly with each shot.....Then stabilizes.....hole in a hole shots 10 - 25
@AirgunDetectives
@AirgunDetectives Жыл бұрын
That is common in some Co2 and PCP airguns. The different pressure being released can affect the POI. Usually it is vertical, but I have seen it horizontal as well.

@@AirgunDetectives I did some more testing It stops shooting right after a few shots and then it becomes stable.....hole in a hole again...

That’s the Hämmerli -Walther 850 Airmagnum System with a new Stock nice but the silencer or so is ugly one on the Barrel 🤭 the FPS drops not as much if enough time between depends on icing from Co2 ( dominator 1250 PCP system is compatible; valve , pressure bottle etc. , maybe its upcoming with same stock..?!) in Germany we must stimm waiting ..., maybe first production go to biggest market to sell it than to smaller markets

No...not the 850 at all. Completely different. This one is all made in China. The suppressor works really well. 👍😉

I don't think that people should use co2 guns for pest control, at least not at distances over 5m. They lack the energy and because the cartridge cools down, they are also inconsistant and therefor not precise enough. Your results where pretty good, but i'd guess, that you sighted it in the same day. Where would the pellet go, when it's 15 degrees hotter or colder?
