Those UMI parts look great 👍 and the offset feature is going to let you get a good sized tire on CC , and its going to need it 😎
@BadLuckGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother. Yea I'm shooting for a 10" wheel with a 6.5" backspace and everyone I've talked to say even with regular tubular control arms you can still run into issues depending on the tire size. I figured if I'm buying them anyway, might as well get the offset just to be sure.

Another great video! I love when all the parts are the same color. Cant wait to see some driving action.

I’ve test driven it already and it feels fine. Hopefully this weekend we’ll get it back to the track. 👍🏻

Just noticed all that heavy duty suspension setup. Bolting up to that flimsy sheet metal of a unibody😮.
@BadLuckGarage3 ай бұрын
@@sanchoramirez8357 LMAO!🤣 Keep watching these old Chaos Theory videos and you’ll find out that sheet metal unibody isn’t as flimsy as some people think it is. This car ran low 6s with no sign of flex before we ever even added SFCs and the cage and has been 5s since then…again with zero signs of flex. What most people misinterpret as chassis flex isn’t chassis flex at all. It’s a power transfer issue easily solved with the addition of some suspension upgrades and a good adjustable antiroll bar. We actually talk about this in some of the installation and track videos. 😉

What a great video thank you for sacrificing your body movements for the camera angle. Very informative and will help me perform this upgrade on my WS6 rock on dude!!!!

That intro was hilarious. Nice touch. I like where you are going with this Robert. Car is coming along at a good pace. Keeping people interested. I don't have any need for UMI parts but I will tell you I've been spending a fair amount with your friends at LSX Innovations lately. ;) I had no idea they were a half a state away from me.

Yep, up in Oregon. Been using their stuff since he was just an eBay seller making nothing but swap plates. The owner Justin is a great guy and makes nice parts for VERY reasonable prices! That’s why I’ve always bought his stuff. You know I like my cheap China parts....but when you can get something made in the US from someone who stands behind it for literally a dollar or two more I’ll pay that extra dollar everytime. 👍🏻

MRBLACK947 sore subject. We loaded up and drove an hour to EMR to run today. Paid $40 to get in then ended up leaving without even unloading the car off the trailer. Planning to take it to Knoxville this coming Friday.

MRBLACK947 Its nothing bad man. There’s just an event going on up there this weekend. It’s being put on by that Block guy out of North Carolina and he wouldn’t let anyone on the track until the main races. So nobody could test and tune. Not the tracks fault or the track owners fault but it fucking sucked because I had planned to get up there early and make some passes and get some data, then leave before the races started. Didn’t work out so I have to wait till next Friday.

So I need to lower the control arms to the lower holes for less fend to tire issues?
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
Lowering the rear of the control arm in relation to the front adds anti-squat while launching yes. But it isn’t going to help you daily driving and hitting potholes if you don’t have the correct backspacing in your wheels and your car is lowered to the weeds.
@aldo56583 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I did my lower control arm (non adjustable) . Thing is, rear driver LCA went in easy but rear passenger side is too far forward, so I can't put the bolt in. Any suggestions to help me put the bolt thru the LCA? its forward by 1 cm

What was your mindset for starting with the opposite setting of there recommendation for the vehicle usage?

I like to party. Lol Honestly I just wanna see what kind of difference just installing the control arms and brackets make on my launch in the closest to stock settings.

@@BadLuckGarage Hmmm. OK then, I would have thought maximum traction would have been the go to move but I guess not. Good luck sir
@BadLuckGarage4 жыл бұрын
The highest setting doesn't always give the best traction brother. Ever car is different and ever surface is different as well. Thats why we experiment and make changes.😉 Some people like to start hard and work to soft, I'm going to start soft and work to hard. Ultimately the same result will be achieved either way.

@@BadLuckGarage yep, I've been into drag racing all my life and know what your saying. I just doubt that n/a 5.3 is going to hit those drag slicks to hard that it becomes a problem was all. Good luck sir
@BadLuckGarage4 жыл бұрын
Not running slicks brother, currently running a 26x8.5 radial. Completely different than a slick. Also not NA. Cars currently on nitrous and will be getting a set of turbos over the winter. You should check out the other videos in the Choas Theory playlist and get up to speed if you're interested. It would give you a better understanding of whats going on with this car and why I'm doing things the way I am on this project, as well as all the other project vehicles on the channel.👍
