I lost my two year old son to drowning in July and the lyric, “I can’t feel anything at all” aptly described the immediate aftermath. Other than the deepest or loss, I felt nothing at all. I couldn’t be happy, I couldn’t feel comfortable, and I even lost the feeling of the fear of death. If you’ve recently lost a loved one, I won’t tell you it gets better because it doesn’t. I’ll tell you it gets different, and a new version of yourself and a new version of daily peace will be found. Just don’t quit the day. And then tomorrow, all you have to do is don’t quit that day. You will feel something again.

This is actually the first song a three song trilogy. In order, Torn in Two and Tourniquet are the next two songs. They all fit together into one full story, and I think you’d like them both. Great video, Alex!
@justsomeguywholosthismusta84955 жыл бұрын
Never Again is also a part of the story because the dude who is addicted to that blue drug thing is their in that hell looking like place where the dad gets trapped in Torn In Two. Also, Torn in Two showed all of us that clip from Polyamorous from that random small tv and we also got to see the family that was walking from So Cold... I don't know why the So Cold part was their... Maybe they also died and are walking in that purgatory - esque place too?
@1dylancs5 жыл бұрын
Hanabi - Chan I also saw all of those things, but didn’t see them as a direct part of the story. They seemed more like light references to me, but that golden guy may very well be the guy from Never Again, because he did cheat death for the longest time.
@ddanner88515 жыл бұрын
@@1dylancs definitely just light references to their past songs because there is stuff going back all the way to Diary of Jane in it and all the songs don't go with this trilogy, just referenced.

You seemed confused a bit about the plot so I’ll help some. As you stated, his daughter is missing and he’s distraught. They organize a search party and they can’t find her. In desperation, the father basically seeks out a witch doctor that helps him see through the eyes of the killer, essentially in exchange for his soul. The father sees the killer (presumably a friend) chasing down his daughter and he “relives” those memories. Enraged and essentially a shell of a man/monster now, he tracks down the killer and nearly beats him to death before being stopped by the sudden appearance of his daughter’s spirit. I’d also like to stress as others have that this is a trilogy of songs I whole-heartedly recommend...then do something completely different by them like Ashes of Eden. You’ll get a massive appreciation for the depth, artistic ability, and talents of this very underrated band.

The message of the song is kinda unrelated to the video, but the story of the video is that a man’s daughter goes missing, and he goes out in search for her along with the police and his friend (guy in glasses). When they discover her dead body in the river, he goes to a witch to find out how she died. He learns that his friend kidnapped her and killed her. This ritual also turned him into a demon-type figure. He then confronts and attacks his friend for killing his daughter. He drags him to the river where he killed his daughter. He beats him mercilessly (don’t know if he kills him or not) until he sees his daughter’s angel rise from the water. He reaches for her and that is where the video ends. Watch “Torn in Two” and “Tourniquet” next to see where the story goes from there!

I love BB! They are sooooo underrated, so so good. Powerful video as well. You are correct, the video is about him losing his daughter and going to any and all lengths to find out what happened. After the police and his friends and locals fail to find her. He essentially loses himself and he goes to a " Witch Doctor " to find answers. She does her voodoo magic and he sees what happened and who did it, his " friend " so he goes after him and you see what he does. At the end when hes laying the smackdown in his enraged state, his daughter comes to him in the form of an angel to say its ok, and she is ok and brings him back from the absolute anger and rage he manifested himself into. Very powerful song and video. I can understand what he turned into, if anything happened to any of my children, i know i would absolutely lose it. Great reaction as always! Keepem coming!

From my understand the story in this video is of a father losing his child only to find her body murdered by a river. The man goes to a witch who hexs him into seeing who killed his child and turns out it was one of the members of the search party and the witch gives him the power to take revenge on him. After which the man drags his child's killer to the river where he left her body and kills him there. Only to have his child decend from heaven and lead him into the afterlife

TWO THINGS 1) The guy he was hitting, was someone who was helping him "look for his daughter" he found out he's the one who took her he was even sniffing her red ribbon. 2) this is a video story, you have to have the next lines.. next is torn in two, the tourniquet. The videos tell a movie!
@rockmusicchallenge5 жыл бұрын
It's about a father who finds his missing daughter dead near a creek then meets a Native American woman who helps him see a vision of the man who killed his daughter and was a part of the search party. The father transforms into a monster, hunts down the killer, and beats him almost to death, but stops upon seeing the angel of his deceased daughter.

Notes about the video that I think you missed. The lady in the forest showed him a vision of what happened to his daughter, in that vision he saw his friend or relative as the one who killed his daughter. He then goes and drags said friend to the place his daughter died and beats the living crap out of him. In turn damning himself to hell, at the end of the video he sees his daughter ascending to heaven while he is burning away. This video leads into a trilogy, it is followed by Torn in Two, and then Tourniquet. I suggest finishing the trilogy as they're all good songs and tell an interesting story.
