I'll wait a while to see how reliable the china thermometer is, as the thermapen has a history of reliability. Also you should have used the one to compare it to. The older thermapens are 2-3 sec to read.

I can’t tell which model you have but ThermaPen One can also be set to show 1/10th of a degree. Under warranty they have replaced my thermometer twice now with free 2 day shipping. I really want to test out a Typhur but they don’t carry a 5 year warranty like Thermoworks provides

This is the thermpen classic that is why its not showing the 1/10th. I have a thermapen one and I actually use that more often then my typhur now

@@SmokestackJoes Why are you not using the Typhur InstaProbe anymore? Kinda a big deal considering in this video you say otherwise. Please elaborate.

How fast do you really need? How fast do you react, and monitor the temperature? I'll go with the Thermopen ONE. It's made in the USA, and fast enough.

Very good point, I have a thermopen ONE and I always seem to be using that when im checking temps over my typhur

Awesome video buddy!!! I found this video because I’m looking for a good and fast and accurate thermometer for grilling!!! Today the 5/20/2023 I’m smoking my very first ever beef short ribs and two big and thick racks!!! I’ve never smoked anything ever so I’m definitely excited!!! They have been on so far for 5.5 hours and there is definitely some really nice shrinkage!!! I’d just like to no the exact temp of them so that I can get some good and tender juice meat from them and not over done or under done!!! Hopefully I can still pull it off with out a thermometer!!!! One question I have is that thermopen the one or mark4??? I’ve been actually looking at the thermopen one!!!???

It is the Thermopen One

I noticed the Typhur temp going down just hovering over the ice. It's definitely faster and more sensitive. 👍🏼

Yeah it is a great instant read thermometer

Was that the new Thermapen One? Or the older version? Thanks
@SmokestackJoes Жыл бұрын
I believe it is the older version. I purchased it about a year ago.

I’ve seen videos where the older ones are faster than the new “one” model

SO, Typhur sponsored the video and not surprisingly Typhur won. WOW. Totally useless. Americas Test Kitchen says Thermapen is the best instant read thermometer and they don't have a biased opinion.

The thermapen is a great thermometer and I still use mine all the time. My decision was based on how much quicker the readings are on the Typhur. I would say durability is probably better for the thermapen though.
@NomadFlow12 сағат бұрын
Your comment about America's Test Kitchen saying the Thermapen is the best is what's "totally useless" because they've never tested the Typhur. The last video on any thermometer they did was almost 3 years ago which was way before the Typhur InstaProbe was released.

ill stick my thermapen the Chinese junk already crapped out that was a waisted $109 my thermapen one is faster than my MK4 and that's the one in the video is the MK4. ill stick with American made

Its hard to argue with you and that sucks it crapped out on you because they aren't cheap. I have a Thermapen ONE as well and thats what I am always reaching for.

You have a 10 year warranty on the Typhur, but you're also the very single only person to have had one fail on them.
