Oil engine. It's not a diesel; it doesn't use compression ignition, but instead uses a hot bulb pre-cup system. I think these were a seamless development into indirect-injection Diesels (like a 6.2 GM/Detroit).

Until I got into manufacturing, I just assumed every company used the latest and greatest tech. Nope. Billion dollar companies using 90-year old machinery was what I encountered. I really took pride in that and helped refurbish one. Seeing it come to life and cycle was amazing.

Love how they can produce product with an electric motor and /or with the diesel engine.......and the elctric also is the starter motor as well.......putting an invertor starter on the electric motor transforms its abilty for work with no nasty power spikes as well.....great set-up.......

Why not just use the electric motor? it even has a vfd... It will have power for the task for sure, the only reason i see is the price of electricity vs fuel (free used oil?)
