I ordered my first car ( 1974 Firebird Formula 400 ) in October 1973 with every options including power windows and door locks and kept it for nine years - I sure miss it - I drove from Maryland to California and back in it in 1980 with over 100,000 miles on it at the time. It was Fire Coral Bronze with Saddle Custom interior. It didn't have much of a life after I sold it - the man I sold it to, let his sixteen-year-old daughter drive it, she ran a red light and it was "T-Boned" in the passenger door TOTALING it.

Would look better without the vinyl top I’ve never seen a split like that don’t think is original.

Howdy. This is my baby and I had to do some research on the top when it was my turn to take this over for my dad. I posted in a few forums and found another person who also had the split vinyl top. Turns out it was a dealer option, not factory. The top definitely gets a lot of looks since it's different for sure. But that's where the split comes from. I've thought about removing the vinyl or maybe making it one piece, but the fact that it's even more rare, I'm going to keep it the way it is
