Your son is so lucky. At 18 I was out the door, off to college, a new State, and I never looked back. But you’ll love this….I was ahead of the times. My parents built a new house in 1964 and I got to choose all the colors…for everything…hard surfaces, furniture, carpet…everything…..for the whole house! My bedroom furniture was black ebony . It was gorgeous. When my Dad sold the house after my Mom died in 1991, my brother took my furniture. I loved that black while I had it.

OMGOSH! I absolutely love this look. I've been changing my interior colors out over the last few weeks to more cream, dark (almost black) green and cognac. I change my Christmas every year and this video has cemented for me what I will do this year - Swiss Chalet! Cognac, caramel, brass, fur, snow, pine trees, maybe a vintage Volvo (ha ha!). So cozy!

I does not mean that I buy all of your recommendations, because here in Vienna, Austria, Europe, many of these items are not available (for example the beautiful creamywhite vase from pottery barns, I love it!!!!) But you two inspire me in general: 1. the way you treat each other so kindly and lovingly including your children 2. that you laugh a lot and take things easy 3. your color schemes 5. the clear furnishing style which is nevertheless very cosy 6. that you do not cling to objects which have to go, that you like to change out things and let things go 7. that you choose items of quality and style thank you!!!!

Thank goodness you finally let Jack have a flocked tree although it’s really for Parker! I have a flocked tree and I LOVE it that my husband bought me several years ago. I loved it when Jack put up the flocked tree in your living room, and his face looked so sad when you told him no. My heart broke for him, so I’m glad Parker will get to enjoy a flocked tree which does look more like Switzerland. Can you do a video that demonstrates how you made the awesome gallery wall and styled Parker’s bed? I love all your room reveals and beautiful decor, but I’m a high school teacher on a tight budget (and I so appreciate your budget friendly tips/tricks), but I purchase the throws and pillow covers at IKEA like you suggest, but I don’t know how to style those throws on my sofa, or how to make my bedding look so inviting or my walls so interesting as yours. Will you andJack demonstrate how you made your decisions on color choices and actually styled everything? I truly need you to ‘show’ me “how to” like we do for our students; it’s just how my brain is wired! I’d be very grateful and will be on the look out for some demo videos! Also, show us how you style your trees, and next year, let Jack have his big full flocked tree! You are very blessed to have such a supportive husband and kids! God bless and Thank you!!
