Man the S90C looks so much better than the C1 here its crazy

Maybe it is the video but the Samsung looked better in this video.

As a Sony fanboi who always felt like Samsung blows out every color, this video caught me off guard. In almost every comparison, my eyes were much more drawn to the look of the Samsung here. I know there's obvious issues with what you see in person vs what the camera shows, after processed and loaded to KZbin etc, but on multiple images when you paused and praised the LG, it really looked like the Samsung had the better color gradients.

I do prefer the light and the pop on Samsung because at the end of the day the image is moving and for me there is no way you notice the little lack of accuracy just in some scenes.

Ive come to the conclusion everyrhing in audio-visual world is super subjective. There is no objectively better or worse its all preference. For example I dont like color accuracy because it looks dull i like vibrant colorful visuals while others like accuracy according to directors intent. The video creator also prefers the c1 in many of the examples while many in the comments give the win to the s90c. Another subjective opinion is I love my c1 but it is unwatchable in a bright living room with windows. It gets destroyed by natural light. The s90c wins hands down with daytime watching. The c1 is much better at motion handling though as the s90c introduces artifacts in its motion handing options. Choose your poison.

bought a C1 55 in a couple of years ago when it was super cheap on sale. What a great T.V thats stood the test of time and when the newer models came in the C1 was going dirt cheap.

Thanks for the side by side comparison. I disagree with your assessment. To my eyes, the Samsung was noticeably better on most scenes and after watching this video (I like sharp, vivid images where the colors pop without getting cartoonish). I'd definitely go with the Samsung if it was within my budget.

I’m watching from a calibrated QN90B and the colors, the saturation in places of the C1 is much better, as well as the depth. The unnaturalness of brightness at 90C and the fact that it turns the picture flat, when with C1 it is three-dimensional, as the reviewer says, I really see it
@dirkmason1748 ай бұрын
Another great video comparison. Have you done C1 vivid settings for your members?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, QD-OLED's quantum dots amplify red and green, but keep blue at a normal level. WOLED increases the white pixel for brighter colors, causing undersaturation. Wouldn't RGB OLED be more accurate than QD-OLED and WOLED?

As a long-time photographer and movie enthusiast, I understand why many people prefer Samsung TVs even after watching this comparison video. High contrast can create the illusion of a better picture, which can be visually appealing, especially in bright environments. However, it's crucial to consider the context in which we watch content. Think about a movie theater-amidst total darkness, it preserves the full spectrum of colors and luminosity, providing an immersive experience. TVs should strive to achieve similar accuracy, particularly in dimly lit environments where contrast alone may not suffice. Ultimately, we face a choice: do we prioritize the recommendations of TV calibrators to optimize our movie-watching experience, or do we opt for high-contrast, bright displays that excel in showcasing sports events and games? Both have their merits, but understanding our viewing preferences and environments can help us make the best decision for our entertainment needs.

S90C to me looks better brighter fuller more vibrant You notice things more like even when I was playing a game I was noticing details and colors on people and cars and different things on Gran Turismo and Grand theft Auto that I didn't see using my other TV so yeah that's 90C is definitely top-notch

Love these KZbin tv comparisons! Can’t wait to see what tvs are going to like in a couple years from now. For this comparison, I’d have to go with the Samsung. Lg, like Sony are just too blue. Some people can deal with that which is cool, but not me. Would really like to see a review of the A95L.

Quantum, I just got the S95B thanks to your recommendations, switched to it from the LG BX which you’ve also recommended (as an attractive low budget Oled) a few years ago. I completely trust your opinion as I love your videos and takes (and settings!). But now I am wondering if for you the C1 is close to beating the S95B on many levels (since the S90C is a similar technology to the S95B)?
@johnlshortt6068 ай бұрын

I have a c1 65". I consider upgrading to s90c 77. It is hard to believe that s90c is not better, especially as it qdoled, and you Quantum spoke so well of qdoled. Can it be possible that you did not find the rigt tune with s90c as you did with s95b. I am just wondering how an 2nd gen qd oled screen can not be better than c1 woled.

i want to buy qd oled but I heard alot about stuttering is very annoying in all oled tvs especially in movies and I don’t know what can i do about that because all led tvs don’t have good contrast like oled i see stutter in oled 4.8 , 5 like that but in qn90c is 7.4 i think pleas respond quantum

Go with qd oled. You won’t be disappointed! Hardly any stuttering if you’re motion is set properly!

coming from getting the S90C and owning the LG C1. The LG C1 has a clearer picture. The S90C has better highlight brightness, that is all.
@darrelldavis24638 ай бұрын
Finally somebody telling the truth the only thing the Samsung is better at is high luminance colors. After i got my S90c i was not only shocked it didn't spank my C1 but was confused that the C1 had a better 3d like contrasty picture and the processing is better. I still love my 90c for gaming because it's a lot brighter than C1 in game mode but yeah i definitely bought into the qd oled hype i still think the tech is great maybe Sony is the way to go but it's too expensive. If your use case is streaming content then skip the s90c the processing isn't great but if you watch 4k bluray and game it's awesome. Great video i was gaslighting myself trying to deny how good the C1 looked in comparison for months 😂😂

The s90c picture pop is undeniable. I mean, why else get an hdr tv to begin with. The overall picture pop is a definite factor. It will be interesting to see if the s90d can improve on its overall brightness. Rumor is 300 nits full field white.
