The famous composition of Ave Maria misattributed to G. Caccini (1551-1618) was actually composed by Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov in the early 1970s. He was forced to attribute most of his music to someone other than himself because any religious composition at that time, especially one invoking the Virgin Mary, was criminal under the communist dictatorship governing the Soviet Union.

Darn Dimash bringing out the intensely pitched whistle notes huh?? I can't do that at all! The highest I can go is a falsetto because I have a contralto (which is much deeper than an Alto) singing voice. His voice is so clear and precise, yet so passionately powerful at the same time. It's always a pleasure to listen to him sing, that's for sure.

This isn’t the Ave Maria by Schubert we are all familiar with. Igor Krutoy took four notes and composed this composition for Dimash. His vocalizations are beautiful and the whole song sounds like a prayer. That last note he sang went straight up to mother Mary. We need all the intercessions from those up above for these troubling turbulent times.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by conductor Igor Krutoy is a variation of the opening theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of Schubert's melody adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore only the initial three notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" that is the same contrast of Dimash's clothes (from dark to light) Wonderful!It also refers to the version of “Ave Maria” by Russian V. Vavilov (Caccine) and the work of JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, arranged by Gounod that Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection!
