Word to the wise. I know it’s exciting, but if you fin a full old jewelry box- don’t open it until you can do so VERY carefully. Valuable things are often held together by things that rot away. Pearls on silk threads, a valuable stone setting repaired poorly, a gold watch strap held together with iron pins, etc. That mud you’re wiping off could have gems in it- and there’s no way you’d see them in that sludge. People often mix their junk and good stuff together, so you have to be so careful!

You should start bringing water jugs, to wash this stuff off!

I'm always so surprised that you open stuff balanced on a wall at the EDGE of the water, on the thin RAILING above the water, or ANYWHERE that seems imminently precarious. You never seem to drop anything, but maybe you don't show us those parts. 😁 I always hold my breath (sometimes I 🙈!) until you have all of your goodies safely away from the water. Whew........ 💖🤗🖐 from Seattle! 😷

You need to carry a bucket like your friend to dunk these, clean it so you can see, great find

There is a guy who magnet fishes and he carries a collapsible bucket and if the box is open he rinses it on the spot. If it's locked, he takes it home and submerges it to make it easier to see stuff. He was robbed for a closed box. He also washes the area where he made a mess, and he takes everyone else's dirty messes. Since you have a possible means of identification, are you going to turn it in? Thank you for sharing 🌞🌞🌞

Sounds like crime is rampant there with all those safes in the canals.

Casually dismissed the steak knife as if it couldn’t be a murder weapon or something😅

It would be great to see everything cleaned up after you find something like a safe :-)

Everywhere else in the world we'd treat it like a dinosaur and gently brush off the goo. Bondi uses a Donk.

How come there are so many safes in Amsterdam's canal? The criminality must have gotten out of hand!
@craigcampbell18433 жыл бұрын
It’s almost like they designed the sides of that canal just to get people to fall in or drop things in it. Must be a reason for the design but looks like an accident waiting to happen.
