That storm made alot of damage. There was a dang tornado literally out my backyard beside the trees and the trees were spinning like crazy. There were so many flashes and rain it was pouring. We lost electricity for 3 days (including the day of the storm) and we had to light candles. We couldnt even take a decent shower because there was no hot water. So we were terrified. My electricty and wifi just came back yesterday..? I believe? And we didnt have that much damage because some people's roofs fell off or trees fell into their house or backyard. When me and a few family member's of mine went to a park with our family friend's family there were so many trees that have fell! So many were on the ground! It was so scary! I'm so glad its over. Lesson 1 from this bizzare experience: *Never take ANYTHING for granted, as it can be taken away from you anytime*

Wednesday and Friday evenings I went out with a pole trimmer to clear paths through some local woods. In one area the path was blocked by eight large trees that had fallen across it. Some had been uprooted while others had broken somewhere between 15 and 30 feet off the ground. That's a bit much for one guy with a pole trimmer.

The storm is not a new phenomena and not more frequent. I’ve witnessed lots of storms like this over the years. We had a storm in Vancouver when I was a kid that caused a hemlock tree to crush our house.

@@BillyBob-fd5ht maybe you can start by personally ripping all those “carbon emitting” Hydro One F-150’s as they cut thousands of deadfall, and restore power to hundreds of thousands more, while driving around in your $100K Tesla, (which will require all new batteries by the time they get their first oil change), and let us know how that works out??? Just kidding, you probably drive a shyte box Prius. Sheesh, no wonder enviro clowns cannot even get a seat at the table? Your party is a joke, while India and China laugh after building 3 new coal plants today!!!

Cripes almighty imagine being a little bird in that storm. Methinks a lot probably never made it. I hope there have been people there scouring for lost and injured wildlife. Yikes.

@@dmalka336 damn. I’m sorry you had to witness that, Devorah. Maybe being waaaaay up high in the sky was actually the safest place to be? Ya never know tho. The natural world is pretty good at predicting these sorts of things within their genome. However, many species will be finding that hard to rely on now as out planet is changing faster than they can adjust. I hope that the rest of the season remains catastrophe free for you and yours, m’lady xx

Surely SOME people knew it was going to get a wee bit blustery and tied things down or brought them indoors. You can't stop a tree from falling over, but restaurant furniture was left out with umbrellas UP. Patio furniture getting blown to god knows where...

Majority of people didn't know just how severe the storm was going to be. I even checked the weather earlier and is said something like 40% chance of rain, people just weren't prepared

@@karmasick 40% chance of rain these days, where I live, means it could be a torrential downpour for a couple hours, everything floats down the river, then the sun comes out and it's 20 degrees. I thought I heard about a storm rolling coming in, but only the day before it hit. I'm not in the area so didn't pay attention to the story. Looked pretty wild.

Have to be ready for anything now with climate change. Live in Chicago and last June there was a "severe thunderstorm watch" for the day. Later that day two seperate tornadoes came tearing through the suburbs... one at night which was scary.

@@NOBODY-fz3im I know what people mean...went to bed one night this past winter, with only light snow forecast for the next day. When I woke up it had changed to a winter storm warning and there was already 8 inches of snow on my car. I was originally scheduled for surgery that day, 2 hr. drive, but they'd already called to reschedule and a good thing too. No one moved that day.
