Just info sharing here- i have a 34-37 scale bass G (176 gauge ) then 124 and so on down. ESP has a 34-37 scale 5 string $1200-1500 range. Good luck w the bass stuff, love the channel-BC

BRO HYMN. Nice choice, great bassline! Gear4Music seems to have three house brands: Gear4Music branded - traditional designs Sub Zero - Less traditional designs (multi-scale, active, non-standard pick up layouts etc) RedSub - Less traditional bass gear The Sub Zero and Red Sub seems to be a step up in quality from the G4M branded stuff in general, but based on my experience, the amps are really low quality with the EQ controls being centred around really unhelpful frequencies. Good value for money still as their amps are RIDICULOUSLY affordable here in the UK and my bass amp seems to be indestructible. I wouldn't use it for anything other than practice though.

I just got a Dingwall 6 string I planned on tuning FBEADG instead of standard , and there's actually a few suuppeerr small but noticeable defects / scratches so I'm returning it and getting another on in February . That has a a 34.75 - 37" fanned fret , pretty noticeable . Wonder how the 1" fanned fret on this is any good for tuning that low like you mentioned . Sounds decent enough for the price , even the Ibanez EHB or ESP with multiscales start at 1600$+ here in Canada

I AB'd a RedSub Coliseum to a Jackson Spectra. In terms of sound the Jackson blew it out the water. I don't think anyone is getting close to Fender/Jackson in this pricepoint rn

I used to own the SubZero Rogue VI. It's basically gear4music's Bass VI except it has humbuckers in it. I definitely know what you mean about it feeling cheap. That being said, it still played pretty well and sounded great which is what's really important. The finish on it was actually pretty good, too. Only costed me around $220 back when I got it. I'm pretty sure they're more expensive now. Great review, man! I've been considering this same bass and this makes me hopeful that it won't completely suck.

I’ve always found stuff coming out of Vietnam to be leaps and bounds better than China. It’s somewhere around Indonesia in terms of quality and rapport. The big C still holds its place as the bottom of the build quality totem pole IMO.
