I try hard to keep fats and solids out of our drains. But, especially if the drain doesn't have a lot of fall, the pipes from a kitchen sink will eventually clog up. Thanks to professional plumbers who spend a LOT of money on good gear, the inevitable clogs can be fixed. Onya Bruce!

That is also because I was able to replace a complete sewer with new years ago, the old one was completely closed with???? yes, sheep fat, Moroccans had lived in that house and they flush everything down the sewer, I even found spoons, forks, knives, tampons, underpants, etc. The grease-filled sewer pipe. I decided to close it with concrete and that's it. I then installed a completely new system, my neighbors were very happy with it!!!

Hi Bruce that's a good reason why I don't like tipping cooking oils or fat down the drain because it makes a horrible mess for starters in your kitchen sink and I don't really like tipping it down the toilet as a precaution because it might black up your toilet so I let it cool down and dilote it down and tip it on your plants it's saves you a headache of calling out a plumber.

Yeah... that was interesting... I'm glad I don't cook inside much where I live. We lived 40 years in our previous home before I retired and never had a clogged line. Oh yeah, the clogged toilet, especially when the kids were young. But never had to have the line cleaned. We just don't put grease down the drain. Now that I have downsized in a new home, we will likely be dead and gone before a problem arises.
