Oh yeah another unboxing vid! Lots of goodies there. Hopefully the Bachmann/ Spectrum stuff escaped the split gears problem. I had an 0-6-0 engine just like that lettered for Pennsylvania and we ran the wheels off it!

I love going through boxes of trains! Some of the stuff is rough, but as soon as I can I’ll test the engines out.

Space yeah, price, I don’t know, some of the engines get up there. If I’m going to spend $300 for an engine, at least with O it feels substantial!

Yeah now I feel the need to get all my HO and N scale stuff out, and build layouts. If only I had the time!

Dave as the saying goes "For free, you take. For pay? You shop around!" There's bound to be some very useable articles in the pile, like the buildings. They all look like a LOT of care went into them and they'll be a great way to add some forced perspective to the layout. Maybe some of the damaged rolling stock too. Right, "N de M" is "National de Mexico." We've got a Greenberg show tomorrow so I'll be looking for some Harry Potter cars and some heavyweights for repaint projects. On the ohter hand who knows what's gonna find ME? Thanks for posting!

Didn't come home with anything except two DC transformers for $5 each for small N scale Christmas layouts and a Morning Sun book "Reading Steam" for $30, too good to pass up since it's out of print. So I look at it this way, I had a de facto $40 challenge and made it! Hey, I had fun and that's what really matters!

I think that little dinky shed-like car is what they call a disconnect car. Apparently they were used on MOW back in the dat. Lionel makes them once in a while and charges a mint for them.

very nice ! i have a small n scale layout and it is easy to connect both a dc and a dcc control, you just add a switch between the tracks and the controls where you choose witch system you want to run. That way you also can run your old dc engines. But don't mix them. Dont try to run DC locomotives on a DCC system. Some dcc system will accept an analog engine as a 0 engine. But you do so at risk to the DC motors and probably to the DCC system. But the other way around modern dcc engines can run om an analog system as an analog engine. And you can run loooong trains.

I model n scale and have 3 Broadway Limited steam locomotives, they also have dual mode sound decoders and are safe to run on DC. They sound and run really well. Micro Trains is considered a premium n scale and z scale manufacturer. 90% of my rolling stock are Micro Trains which are USA made in Oregon.

I used to be in h.o trains.But my eyes decided they didn't like how anymore. About that time a new company called MTH trains came on the sence.Lionel pricing is gonna turn a lot of people off!!

I use the NCE Power Cab(HO & N) on my layout, I have no problem running 3 n scale steam locomotives with 12 to 15 pieces of rolling stock at the same time. It's a 2 amp system that can be found for around $200 or less. Easily upgraded also.

Family history. My grandfather drove a bus for Public Service. He was a fan of all modes of transportation and the reason I’m into trains in the first place. So when it came time for a logo, it just made sense

Yeah that seems to be the main complaint. I don’t recall having that problem with my N scale though

You're definitely going to need a dcc system for all dcc engines otherwise you will burn the decoder fixed power no good for dcc engines

Well you can run on DC with a powerpack, you'll only kill the decoder if you short the decoder itself or severely overload it by purposefully exceeding the max input voltage (15V maximum)
