Perhaps one of the best videos to learn how to ride on a single wheel

So amazing to see an old guy still willing to learn new things.

Please define "Old." My 79th birthday is tomorrow, and I'm just getting comfortable on my V5F. Age isn't measured in years, it's measured by the "willingness to learn new things." Thumbs up, take care.

@@johnstarkie9948Well said. I start on my new V5 today @ 60. BTW, I still ride a skateboard. I know it is a different dynamic to the euc. These youngsters are sure eager to write us off.

I will be 62 on August 9th of 2024 and just started to ride my Inmotion V5F. I’m still trying to build up confidence to free mount. I did it once or twice, it’s just a scary feeling to do it for some reason? Once I am on the wheel (usually by holding on to something then getting my second foot on) I’m fine! I just think about where I want to go and the wheel somehow reads my body language and just goes! Trick is to never look down (or you will go down) but to look straight ahead. I got about 22 miles on the wheel and I practice it in my company’s parking lot. But yeah! It’s not an age thing I mean the man in this video and myself are both proving that it’s not about the age! I started learning about 2 months ago. You learned MUCH quicker than I did. I am so addicted to riding them now.

That's great to hear... Starting with a cheap V5 and go from there.

Looks great, but you really should consider wearing some safety gear. A helmet and wrist guards at a minimum. Elbow and knee pads are also a good idea (but maybe not necessary given the low speed of the V5F). As much fun as EUCs are, even at 15 mph, if you fall the wrong way (i.e. faceplant or fall backwards and hit your head), gear will help you avoid a trip to the ER... In any case, I really like the video. Roll on!

Wonder! I am also very interested in acquiring and learning to ride this 'thing'. And you walked reasonably well on the second day of training. Thanks for sharing.

It’s great fun. I am wanting a bigger one now maybe a v11

I have the same model. V5F. I placed high density foam (with sticky backing) under the pedals. They also sell a plastic like covering to protect the body from scratches.

If I could do over I would get the V8. Don’t get me wrong I love the v5f but sometimes I want to go a little faster.

I have since upgraded to a V11 which goes much faster. I got a full face helmet and glued a rear view mirror onto it. If I start off without it I immediately miss the rear view mirror

I like the v11 yeah it's a bit on the pricey side but that suspension is really nice to have its also heavy but once you get used to it it's not bad I have the v8 as well but oddly I'm always going for the v11

Im thinking of getting a used one of these as my first wheel, are you still enjoying the wheel, has it given you any issues?
@robertcox2335 Жыл бұрын
I have just upgraded to a V11. The v5f was a great wheel to learn on but I kept running up against the 15 mph top speed, if I had it to do over I might go with a v8 with a little more speed. I am just getting used to the v11 and it is a different animal because it is so much heavier and takes so much more effort turn, accelerate and stop. So I am glad I started with a smaller wheel. If you can pick up a used one at a reasonable price go for it..l have had no problem at all with the v5f.
